The YMCA of Greater Boston’s Adult Education & Workforce Development programs empower adults across Greater Boston to learn, work, and thrive. YGB began offering high-quality adult education in 1975 and expanded into workforce development in 1984. Since then, we have supported more than 5,000 adults on pathways to employment and economic mobility through our workforce development programs, which i
nclude our Medical Office and Property Management Employment Programs, and our Early Childhood Education Apprenticeship. Through YGB’s International Learning Centers (ILCs) in Boston and Woburn, we have provided English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) instruction to more than 32,500 adult English learners and newcomers; helping them build essential language skills, strengthen employment readiness, and integrate into their communities. YGB’s Adult Education & Workforce Development programs seek to advance opportunity, strengthen economic mobility, and uplift Greater Boston’s communities through education, training, and employment.
