A message from our Executive Director.

The Seminar was saddened to hear about the passing of Seminar Family member Louisa Gag (Spring 2019), who was struck and killed by a truck while bicycling in Boston.

Louisa was a cycling enthusiast who worked for LivableStreets Alliance, a Boston-based nonprofit that pushes for increased safety, equity, and affordability. She later joined the City of Boston in 2022 where she worked in City Hall as a bike-share and transportation planner to improve safety and accessibility.

The Seminar would like to pass along our condolences to Louisa's family, friends and colleagues during this very sad time.

Congratulations to Leverett Wing, Executive Director of the Commonwealth Seminar, for being named one of Boston Magazine's 150 Most Influential Bostonians for the second year in a row! ๐ŸŽ‰

For more than a decade, Leverett has worked tirelessly to open the doors of government to people who have too often been left out of the conversation. Through his leadership, mentorship, and ability to connect communities, he has helped shape a more representative and inclusive future for Boston and beyond.

Now more than ever, we need leaders who are committed to ensuring everyone has a seat at the table.

Join us on June 15 for the Commonwealth Seminar's Annual "In the Room & At the Table" Celebration as we honor our Champions of Inclusion and support the Seminar's mission of Opening the Doors of Government to Everyone.
