Neighborhood Birth Center We are working to reimagine pregnancy and birth care in the greater Boston areaway creating a spa-like place for care and childbirth.

Supporting pregnant people and families in and around Boston, this birth sanctuary will be a warm and sacred space to engage with supports throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. Families who are seeking a safe alternative to hospitals, can birth here, supported by midwives, doulas, and family. Centered on a midwifery model of care, Neighborhood Birth Center will also provide child

birth education, parenting classes, and other supports. Providing a safe space for labor and birth, we support physiologic birth, breastfeeding, and support families through loss as well. We hope to open the space in 2023.

Big things are happening as we get ready for construction! Asbestos was removed from the house before demo, and we hired a local finishing carpenter to refurbish this beautiful built in for the birth center’s sanctuary! And today, we hit another milestone - we reached “100% CDs” meaning all the “construction documents” or architectural plans were turned over to the construction team. Over a few hours (and lots of coffee and delicious pastry) 150+ pages of detailed plans were reviewed and signed off on! It’s almost go time!!!

In an intimate ceremony in July, midwives, neighbors, and children broke ground on the neighborhood’s birth center. Now it is time to celebrate this milestone with everyone who has supported our labor thus far!
