⚾ An evening of connection, community, and a Red Sox win at Fenway!

IBA CEO Vanessa Calderón-Rosado, COO Mayra Negrón-Roche, and Operations Manager Janice Nevarez recently joined fellow nonprofit leaders for the Women in Nonprofit (WIN) Network’s Women’s Night at Fenway Park.

The evening brought together women leaders from across Massachusetts for meaningful conversation, relationship building, and a little baseball along the way.

Thank you to Bank of America, the Women's Foundation of Massachusetts, the Red Sox Foundation, and the Women in Nonprofit (WIN) Network Boston for creating spaces where women nonprofit leaders can connect, learn from one another, and strengthen the work happening across our communities. 💙

💛 Baila Por Venezuela made a real impact.

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, Baila Por Venezuela raised more than $5,000 for disaster relief efforts in Venezuela.

From the artists who donated their time and talent to everyone who showed up, danced, gave, and helped spread the word, this event was a powerful reminder of what can happen when our community comes together around a shared purpose.

A special thank you to Rumbaland for their collaboration in bringing this benefit to life, and to the Massachusetts United for Venezuela Fund, a statewide emergency relief effort launched by The Boston Foundation’s Latino Equity Fund, for helping ensure these contributions reach communities in need.

Thank you to everyone who made the day possible and helped turn music, culture, and solidarity into meaningful support. 🇻🇪❤️

Poetry, performance, conversation, and Boricua sound come together at boricuir lounge ✨

Join us at La CASA on Saturday, August 29 for an afternoon presented by Poetry is Busy Studio in partnership with IBA's Arts Programs.

The program begins with a conversation featuring Shey Rivera Ríos, Artistic Director of the Boston Center for the Arts and founder of Studio Loba, followed by poetry and performances from Marie Frances Rivera, Yara Liceaga-Rojas & Sol Estívaliz Liceaga, and live music from Puerto Rico’s Nömadas.

💛 Community support makes a meaningful difference.

Thanks to the generosity of Boston Police Department (Official) District 4 and support from Goya Foods, 30 bags filled with Goya products were donated to IBA residents.

At a time when grocery costs continue to rise, this contribution provided welcome relief and support to many families in our community.

A special thank you to Sergeant Joseph Narduzzo for coordinating the donation and for his continued partnership and commitment to our residents.

🎥 Another week of learning, creativity, and community with IBA’s Youth Development Program!

This week, we're highlighting the team's visit to Bunker Hill Community College and participation in Festival Betances! The youth also put their acting and teamwork skills to work through original skits, and tested their pop culture knowledge with a game of “Guess the Celebrity,” among many other activities.

These experiences are part of the academic, professional, artistic, and social development opportunities YDP provides to Boston high school students throughout the year.

Recent City budget cuts have created a $60,000 funding gap, putting 13 youth positions at risk for the upcoming Academic Cycle. Help us continue creating meaningful opportunities like these by supporting our campaign before September 15.

✨ Creativity, connection, and a little time to make something beautiful.

IBA residents and staff recently came together for a jewelry-making workshop led by Puerto Rican artisan Ana Rosado. Participants had the chance to learn new techniques, create their own pieces, step away from their daily routines, and enjoy meaningful time connecting with one another.

Thank you to Ana for sharing her talent, patience, and passion with us, and to everyone who helped make the workshop possible. Experiences like this give us the opportunity to support artists while strengthening creativity, collaboration, and community within the IBA family.

🎥 A summer of learning, creating, and growing.

As IBA’s Youth Development Program approaches the end of its Summer Cycle, our YDP team will be offering a closer look at the experiences that have shaped their summer.

This week, participants explored their creativity through collage workshops, practiced and strengthened their sketching skills, and took a trip to Faneuil Hall and the North End to experience more of Boston’s history, culture, and community.

YDP serves 70 Boston high school students each year through academic support, career exploration, professional development, artistic learning, financial education, life skills, and paid work experience. These opportunities help young people discover new interests, build confidence, and move toward their long term goals.

Recent City budget cuts, however, have created a $60,000 funding gap, putting 13 youth positions at risk for the upcoming Academic Cycle.

As we celebrate everything our youth have accomplished this summer, we’re asking our community to help protect these opportunities for the next group of young people.

From Boston to Capitol Hill 🇺🇸

IBA CEO Vanessa Calderón-Rosado recently joined other Latino leaders in Washington, D.C. for the 2026 National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders (NALCAB) Policy Forum and Hill Day.

During the visit, she met with the offices of Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley and U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren to elevate the needs and priorities of the communities IBA serves.

The day’s advocacy focused on protecting federal investments in CDFIs, affordable housing, small-business support, and community development—resources that help neighborhoods like ours create stability, opportunity, and long-term economic mobility.

Thank you to NALCAB for bringing community development leaders together and ensuring our voices are heard on Capitol Hill, and to the offices of Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley and Senator Elizabeth Warren for taking the time to meet and engage with us.
