A historic weekend. A new chapter. A community’s vision realized.

In May, residents, artists, supporters, elected officials, partners, and neighbors came together to celebrate the grand opening of La CASA: the Center for Arts, Self-Determination and Activism.

More than a building, La CASA is a home for creativity, culture, learning, and community power. It is a testament to what can be accomplished when a community dreams boldly and works together to make that vision a reality.

🎶 Celebrating 20 years of music, culture, and community! 🎶

The Tito Puente Latin Music Series returns this summer for its 20th season, bringing free live Latin music to parks across Boston.

Created in honor of the legendary Tito Puente, the six-concert series has spent two decades filling Boston neighborhoods with the sounds of salsa, Latin jazz, Afro-Caribbean rhythms, and more. We're proud to once again partner with Berklee College of Music and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department to continue this beloved summer tradition.

Join us every Thursday at 7 PM from July 9 through August 13 for performances from outstanding artists and ensembles from Boston and beyond.

🎓 Congratulations to two outstanding members of IBA's Youth Development Program as they take the next step in their educational journeys!

✨ Marisol Roach, a graduate of the John D. O'Bryant School of Math & Science, will attend Lesley University, where she plans to study Business.

✨ Jasmin Martinez, also a graduate of the John D. O'Bryant School of Math & Science, will attend Suffolk University, where she will pursue a degree in Business.

We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and grateful to have witnessed their growth, leadership, and dedication through their time at YDP. Their hard work and perseverance have opened exciting new opportunities, and we can't wait to see all they achieve in the years ahead.

🎶✨ Opera under the summer sky.

Yesterday, we welcomed the first Street Stage performance of the season, celebrating five years of this incredible partnership between IBA and Boston Lyric Opera.

Villa Victoria gathered for an evening of music, storytelling, and poetry that reflected the rich cultural traditions and voices of our community. The event was another beautiful reminder of the power of the arts to bring people together.

Thank you to Boston Lyric Opera, our wonderful performers - Isis Bermúdez Rivera, David Rivera Bozón, and Brendon Shapiro - and everyone who joined us for this special evening. We look forward to many more moments of music and connection in Villa Victoria. 💛

🎶 Celebrating a special milestone for music and cultural exchange.

IBA was honored to join the Boston Symphony Chamber Players in Puerto Rico during their first-ever appearance at the Festival Casals, one of the most renowned classical music festivals in the Americas.

As an organization committed to connecting communities through arts and culture, we were proud to help support and celebrate this moment, which brought together musicians, arts leaders, and audiences from Boston and Puerto Rico through the shared language of music.

The Chamber Players delivered an extraordinary performance that showcased the artistry, collaboration, and innovation that have made the Boston Symphony Orchestra one of the world's premier cultural institutions.

We extend our gratitude to the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Festival Casals, and our many partners who continue to strengthen the cultural ties between Boston and Puerto Rico.

Financial instability and barriers to employment continue to impact individuals and families across Greater Boston. Thanks to support from Mass General Brigham, IBA will be able to strengthen pathways to homeownership and help individuals and families build long-term financial stability.

The grant will support IBA's Financial Empowerment Program, which provides personalized one-on-one financial coaching and group workshops on topics such as goal setting, budgeting, opening financial products, managing loans, building credit, saving, and pursuing homeownership.

☀️ Welcoming summer the IBA way.

Last week, our team stepped away from the office for our annual staff picnic — a day filled with laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of great food.

From tug of war and relay races to kickball and a backyard BBQ, the day was a chance to celebrate the people who make IBA’s work possible every day.

We are grateful for this incredible team and the dedication, energy, and care they bring to our community year-round. Here's to a summer of continued impact, collaboration, and fun.

🎉 Festival Betances returns Saturday, July 18.

As the nation marks 250 years of history, this year’s celebration honors the generations of Puerto Rican artists, organizers, workers, musicians, and families whose stories and contributions have helped shape America itself.

Join us at Plaza Betances for a full day of music, culture, food, and community in the heart of Boston’s South End — featuring a legendary headlining performance by Luisito Ayala y la Puerto Rican Power, alongside Brenda K Starr, Fabián Torres and the Liberty Vibes Army Salsa Band.

From bomba to salsa, from activism to community building, Festival Betances continues the tradition of celebrating Boricua culture loudly, proudly, and together. 🇵🇷
