The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH), Office of Community Health Workers (OCHW), in partnership with the Center for Health Impact (CHI), invites Community Health Workers (CHWs) and professionals involved in community outreach, education, and public health to participate in an interactive training on Home Visiting & Community Engagement: Safety and Best Practices.
This training will provide participants with an overview of outreach methods, engagement strategies, cultural responsiveness, and safety considerations for CHWs. Participants will explore key foundations of effective outreach, including trust-building, identifying and engaging target populations, developing outreach campaigns, and applying trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices in community settings.
This highly interactive training will include opportunities for discussion and peer learning in small groups. Participants are encouraged to come prepared to actively engage
and share experiences.
