Somehow, between doing REALLY good hair, making everyone laugh, attending every meeting known to South Boston, supporting just about everything, and casually saving the planet … Lisa & Nikki found time to win an award.

We are SO excited to announce that Lisa Walsh & Nikki McCart of MW Hair Studio Boston are the recipients of the 2026 Thomas J. Butler South Boston Small Business Leadership Award!

These two show up for South Boston over and over again — never looking for recognition, always willing to help, and usually providing some much-needed comic relief along the way.

They’re talented. They’re hilarious. They run a clean & green salon. They love this neighborhood fiercely. And they are exactly the kind of small business owners this award was created to celebrate.

South Boston is lucky to have them — and definitely a lot funnier because of them.
