✨ We’re officially ONE MONTH away from Make Her Mark! ✨

On October 15, the Women’s Foundation of Massachusetts will bring together hundreds of supporters, community leaders, partners, and changemakers at Roadrunner Boston for Make Her Mark: Celebrating Leadership & Mentorship.

New to Make Her Mark? 💜 It’s WFMA’s signature annual celebration an evening dedicated to celebrating the impact we can create when we invest in women and girls across Massachusetts.

This year, we’ll shine a spotlight on the power of leadership and mentorship and welcome Lauren Baker, CEO of Wonderfund and former First Lady of Massachusetts, as our featured speaker, alongside Aryana Richardson from Girls Inc., our Impact Speaker.

Together, we’ll celebrate the people and programs creating greater economic opportunity for women and girls across the Commonwealth.

At our Fall Leadership Event, we were honored to hear from two incredible women veterans, Angela Cincis and Loree Draude, as they shared their experiences serving our country, leading in traditionally male-dominated spaces, and carrying those lessons into the next chapters of their careers.

Angela, a Major in the Army National Guard and 22-year military veteran, and Loree, one of the first women to fly combat jets in the U.S. Navy, spoke candidly about their journeys as women veterans and the importance of ensuring women who have served are supported long after their military service ends.

The conversation was a powerful reminder of the role we can all play from creating career and leadership opportunities to providing mentorship, building strong networks, and recognizing the incredible skills women veterans bring to our workplaces and communities.

🎉 Join us in welcoming Alyssa Larson to our Advisory Council!

Alyssa brings a multidisciplinary background spanning scientific research, healthcare investing, and investor relations. She currently serves as Director of Investor Relations at RA Capital Management, where she builds relationships with investors and helps communicate the firm’s investment strategy and scientific perspective.

Earlier in her career, Alyssa evaluated emerging technologies and companies across the biotechnology sector and held scientific roles at Eagle Pharmaceuticals and Arsia Therapeutics. She holds a BS in Biochemistry from UC Santa Barbara and a PhD in Biochemistry from MIT.

We’re thrilled to welcome Alyssa’s unique perspective, scientific expertise, and leadership as we continue creating greater economic opportunity for women and girls across Massachusetts.

☀️📚 From summer camp to back-to-school, we’re celebrating our grantee partners helping girls explore STEM all year long!

Through a three-year grant, Girlstart is expanding its hands-on after-school and summer camp STEM programming to new schools in Waltham, Somerville, and Woburn. 🔬✨

We’re also proud to support Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts as they expand STEM ON-THE-GO, bringing hands-on STEM activities directly to Girl Scout troops and summer camps across Eastern Massachusetts.

As students head back to the classroom this week, we’re excited to see these opportunities continue to inspire curiosity, confidence, and a love of STEM. 💜
