🌟 2026 Grantee Spotlight: Esperanza Academy 🌟

We're proud to support Esperanza Academy as a recipient in our 2026 grant cycle!

Esperanza Academy is a tuition-free, independent, lottery-based middle school for girls from low-income communities in Lawrence. This one-time grant will help equip STEM learning spaces in the school's new building, expanding opportunities for hands-on, place-based learning.

🌎💧🌱 Students will explore the health of their local air, water, and soil through ecology and environmental science investigations rooted in their experiences in Lawrence and the Merrimack Valley. By engaging with real-world data and challenges, students will build confidence, curiosity, and critical STEM skills.

We're excited to support Esperanza Academy's efforts to expand access to high-quality STEM education and inspire the next generation of scientists, innovators, and community leaders. 👩‍🔬✨

🌟 2026 Grantee Spotlight: The Care Center 🌟

We're proud to support The Care Center (TCC) as a recipient in our 2026 grant cycle.

Based in Holyoke, TCC is an innovative educational program that helps young mothers who have had their education interrupted gain control of their lives and acquire the education, resources and skills for life-long growth, wellness, and economic stability. Through a HiSET program, part-time college courses, and an associate program (Bard Microcollege Holyoke), TCC provides pathways to higher education alongside comprehensive wraparound support services that include childcare, transportation, meals, athletics, medical and mental health care, and housing assistance.

Their model delivers remarkable results: 73% of students graduate with an associate degree from their onsite college, compared to just 8% of single mothers nationally.

Research shows that when mothers receive the support needed to earn a degree and build a career, the benefits extend across generations. Through this three-year grant, TCC will hire a Graduate Transition Specialist to help students successfully navigate through college and onto careers.

We're honored to support The Care Center's work, helping strengthen economic security and opportunity for young mothers and their families for years to come.

Cue the graduation caps! 🎓✨

This month, students at Esperanza Academy, Mother Caroline Academy & Education Center, and Our Sisters' School celebrated an incredible milestone as they crossed the stage and prepared for their next chapter. These three all-girls, tuition-free middle schools are WFMA grantee partners that are creating transformative learning environments where girls can lead, grow and thrive. 📚

From career camps at Boston Children’s Hospital and classroom visits from female aerospace engineers to student science and art showcases at local museums, these schools are bringing learning to life through hands-on experiences that connect classroom lessons to the world around them. 🩺👩‍🚀🖼️

We are so proud of every graduate and grateful for the educators, families, and school communities who have supported them along the way. Together, they are helping build a future where girls have the confidence, skills, and opportunities to reach their full potential.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! We can't wait to see all that you accomplish next. 💙

🌟 2026 Grantee Spotlight: Girls on the Run Worcester County 🌟

We're proud to support Girls on the Run Worcester County (GOTRWC) as a recipient in our 2026 grant cycle.

GOTRWC empowers girls in grades 3–8 through a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident.
As early as age 9, girls' self-confidence begins to decline, with overall confidence levels dropping by as much as 30% between ages 8 and 14. By centering girls' voices in program design and evaluation, GOTR ensures its curriculum remains relevant, responsive, and impactful for the participants it serves.

Through this three-year grant, GOTRWC will expand programming to six new high-need sites across Worcester County, creating more opportunities for girls to build confidence, strengthen emotional regulation skills, develop healthy relationships, and practice goal setting.

We're honored to support their work and their commitment to helping every girl recognize her limitless potential. 🏃‍♀️✨

🌟 2026 Grantee Spotlight: WE CAN 🌟

We're proud to support WE CAN as a recipient in our 2026 grant cycle.

WE CAN empowers and supports Cape Cod women to build pathways to stability and self-sufficiency through career support, financial empowerment, business support, mentoring, personal development, and legal consultation. This three-year grant will fund the expansion of programming and geographic reach to the Upper Cape towns including Bourne, Falmouth, Mashpee and Sandwich.

Women on Cape Cod continue to experience significant wage disparities and financial barriers, with women disproportionately affected by poverty, housing affordability challenges, and seasonal employment instability. WE CAN's holistic approach helps women navigate these challenges, strengthen their financial security, and create opportunities for long-term success.

We're excited to invest in their work and the economic well-being of women across the Cape.

🌟 2026 Grantee Spotlight: Technovation 🌟

We're excited to support Technovation as a recipient in our 2026 grant cycle.

Technovation, a new WFMA grantee partner, empowers girls to become tech entrepreneurs by learning to build mobile apps and AI-powered solutions that address real-world problems. This two-year grant will support the expansion of their 12-week program in Massachusetts, helping middle and high school girls gain hands-on experience in coding, AI, and entrepreneurship. 👩‍💻

Research shows that early exposure to computer science, combined with mentorship and project-based learning, significantly increases girls' persistence in STEM fields. Technovation's model provides equipment, trained educators, mentorship, and supportive learning communities where girls can develop technical skills and gain confidence as future innovators.

We're proud to support their work and invest in a future where every girl has the opportunity to lead, create, and thrive in technology. 💫
