The pace of change facing organizations today is not just fast. It is exponential. What once felt like disruption is now constant. Leadership today requires more than adaptability. It calls for clarity of purpose, courage, and a willingness to lead in new ways.

At Junior Achievement USA, this reality is shaping how we think about impact. As we scale solutions that advance economic mobility for young people, we are pushing ourselves to go deeper. That means addressing root causes and the conditions that limit educational attainment and workforce access.

Today, we had the privilege of engaging with our CEO, Jack Harris, in a candid and thoughtful conversation. He shared insights on taking a systems approach and challenged us to act with intention and innovation.

What made this especially meaningful was the dialogue. Our team asked important questions about challenges, opportunities, and how we can lead more effectively in a time that demands resilience and reinvention.

Thank you, Jack, for taking the time to connect and inspire us to think bigger and act boldly.

Yesterday, Staples graciously opened its doors to host our Board of Directors at their corporate headquarters. While partnership decisions can evolve over time, what truly stood out was their generosity in welcoming our leadership team into their space and creating an opportunity for meaningful connection and dialogue. We are grateful for the hospitality and the spirit of collaboration that made the gathering possible.

Following the meeting, the energy shifted in the best way possible as our JA Company Program students transformed the reception area into a lively pop-up showcase. Board members and Staples staff had the chance to meet these remarkable young entrepreneurs, learn about their ventures, and experience firsthand the creativity, determination, and innovation that define the program.

Moments like this remind us why our work matters. When students are given a platform to share their ideas and tell their stories, they inspire everyone in the room. Thank you to the Staples team for opening your doors and helping create a space where the next generation of leaders could shine.

Join us in celebrating the 10th JAnniversary of our Chief Operations Officer, Deirdre O’Connor Mitchell!

For a decade, Deirdre has been a pillar of our educational team and the steady hand behind so much of what makes our programs and operations succeed. With a practical approach to leadership and a wonderfully no-nonsense style, she keeps the engine running, the details in order, and all of us moving in the right direction. When things get complicated, Deirdre has a way of bringing clarity, calm, and a plan that works.

Her commitment ensures that our programs reach students and educators with excellence and consistency, helping advance our mission every single day. Simply put, much of what we do would not be possible without her steady leadership and dedication.

Deirdre, thank you for ten years of wisdom, hard work, and heart. Your impact is felt across the organization, and your efforts are truly noticed and deeply appreciated. Here’s to a decade of leadership and many more milestones ahead!
