Meet Dr. Damien Punguyire — Public Health Specialist and Eastern Regional Director of Health Services — our newest Advisory Board Member.
Dr. Damien is a distinguished leader in Ghana's public health sector, With over 17 years of professional experience in clinical medicine, disease surveillance, emergency preparedness, project management, and public sector leadership, he has consistently demonstrated commitment to expanding quality healthcare access across Ghana.
When Moving Health set out to bring locally-manufactured tricycle ambulances to the Upper West Region, it was Dr. Damien Punguyire who helped turn that vision into reality. As Upper West Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Damien was instrumental in the on-the-ground deployment and implementation of Moving Health's tricycle ambulances across five districts, a landmark effort that brought emergency transportation to communities that had long gone without it. His leadership, institutional knowledge, and commitment to last-mile care were central to making that rollout a success.
His professional philosophy—"the best healthcare begins before the hospital"—aligns with Moving Health's core mission and values.
