Looking for Child Care During School Closure Days? Children ages 5 - 13 are invited to join BCNC Red Oak After School on vacation and school closure days. Children enrolled in other after school programs and from all school districts are welcome. Children will engage in strong academic tutoring and fun, enriching activities.

BCNC Family Services is thrilled to welcome 7 interns from Boston College, Boston University, Tufts University, and Lesley University University for the upcoming academic year!

Bringing academic expertise across social work, clinical mental health counseling, expressive therapies, and human development, this cohort reflects our commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. The 2026-2027 interns will serve the Chinese-speaking immigrant community through the Neighbors Program for Seniors, problem gambling prevention, Perinatal Health for New Mothers, Expressive Arts Experiential Program, and parents education workshops.

We look forward to providing culturally responsive clinical training and walking alongside them on their professional learning journey.

This summer, 58 children ages 5 to 13 enjoyed a fun-filled schedule of learning, creativity, and exploration at BCNC Red Oak Summer. Through hands-on activities such as cooking, sculpting, painting, and gardening, children developed new skills, discovered new interests, and found hobbies they can continue to explore.

For field trips, children visited the Boston Children's Museum, Museum of Science, Boston, New England Aquarium, Lucky Strike Somerville, ICA, and the LEGO Discovery Center. These experiences gave children opportunities to learn, play, and explore new places.

Last Thursday, BCNC was proud to partner with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts for their . Blue Crew volunteers assembled 150 care packages to support BCNC's adult immigrant students as they work toward their educational, career, and personal goals. Volunteers also wrote personal notes of encouragement to include with each package.

We are so grateful to all of our volunteers for their hard work and thoughtful participation. A special thank you to BCBSMA site coordinators Alex Kennedy-LeBrasseur and JuanCarlos Curiel for making this event possible. Thank you for investing in the success of immigrant communities and helping our students take steps toward brighter futures!

Volunteers needed! Are you a working professional who wants to make a difference? Apply to be a mentor with the BCNC College Access and Post-Secondary Success (CAPS) program and help guide a high school youth on their journey to future success.

As a CAPS mentor, you will

🎓 Provide one-on-one mentoring to a high-school youth on their college application and career readiness journeys
🌱Build a trusting mentoring relationship through weekly or biweekly meetings with your mentee
🌟 Receive training and engage in community events

We are looking for volunteers who have completed a college degree and are passionate about working with youth. Chinese language proficiency is a plus but not required.

We’re excited to welcome Nian Wheeler and Emma Claire Everett, our 2026–2027 Commonwealth Corps members, to BCNC’s Adult Education team! 🎉

Nian and Emma Claire will work alongside BCNC staff to expand access to education and workforce opportunities for immigrant adult learners.

During their first week of orientation, Nian and Emma Claire explored Boston Chinatown by visiting Pao Arts Center’s Experience Chinatown murals. They learned more about Chinatown’s history, culture, and vibrant community through the murals.

Nian shared:
“Exploring Chinatown through the murals was a great way to see in action the deep connection between Chinatown and the greater community.”

🎗️ As an Official Charity of the Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program, BCNC has received entry bibs to participate in the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 19, 2027.

📢 We are looking for enthusiastic and ambitious runners to join Team BCNC, raise vital funds for our programs, and proudly represent BCNC at the marathon. All proceeds raised will support programs for Asian and new immigrant children, youth, and families. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until Saturday, October 31, 2026, so apply early.
