“It’s the first time I didn’t feel like I had to explain myself,” one mother reflected, “everyone just understood.”

This quote is from a parent who participated in Empowering Caregivers: A Supportive Parenting Series at Gateways: Access to Jewish Education, supported by The Miriam Fund.

We want to share an opportunity to attend an event coming up that is happening as a part of this program: "Supporting Siblings in Neurodivergent Families," which will explore "research-informed strategies for parents and caregivers to support all siblings in neurodivergent families, with a focus on building connection, balance, and understanding at home."

This program aims to offer parents and caregivers of neurodivergent children "a better understanding of sibling dynamics and a compassionate framework for ensuring that every child in their family feels seen, supported, and valued."

💬 “Put on your own oxygen mask first.”
Sounds simple — but if you’re raising a child with a disability, you know it’s anything but.
Join us on December 9 for a free, virtual workshop for parents and caregivers of children with disabilities or other support needs. Presenter Sarah Rigney of The Brookline Center for Community Mental Health will lead an honest, warm conversation about reconnecting with our sense of self while supporting our kids.
💡 We’ll talk about:
✨ Managing conflicting emotions
✨ Finding realistic ways to recharge
✨ Reclaiming your identity beyond caregiving
Because self-care isn’t selfish; it’s survival. 💜

The Miriam Fund was honored to learn from this tremendous panel of leaders!

Last week, our CEO, Nancy Kriegel, joined leaders from Women's Lunch Place, The Greater Boston Food Bank, and Jewish Family & Children's Service of Greater Boston Family Table for a powerful discussion about food insecurity, hosted by The Miriam Fund and CJP - Combined Jewish Philanthropies. At a time when many families face reduced food support and financial uncertainty, this conversation—and our collective action—couldn’t be more urgent. We’re grateful to The Miriam Fund for elevating this issue and to our partners for standing together with compassion and resolve. Together, we can make a difference. 💙
