Citizens for Children's safety (CCS) is a new non profit organization formed on the heals of the senseless massacre and act of gun violence in Newtown, CT on Dec 14, 2012. The massacre was the second deadliest school shooting since the Virginia Tech massacre in 2007. Most public and private schools in the United States have limited options when an attack occurs at their school. Although locking en
trances and windows provides some security, inevitably this only delays an attacker for a few moments. Ultimately only providing a short delay on their mission. CFCS’s first objective is to provide schools with adequate security (resource officers). Certified trained officers would be mandatory, as they are qualified to protect and understand the procedural process during an emergency. In addition to securing safe schools, CFCS also is a force in intervention in all area's of violence, neglect and abuse toward children.
