The Pi Theta Professional/Graduate Chapter of Boston, Massachusetts was founded on September 7, 2011 by five women: Sarayfah Bolling, Christina Jusino, Carla Reeves, Daniela Trammell, and Nashalie Vazquez. Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. was established on April 16, 1988 at Cornell University. Our Sorority was founded by five strong women who sought an organization that would transcend their collegiate experience and encompass the experiences of all women, and whose ideals would nurture and promote the growth of its members at all stages of their lives. Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. is comprised of undergraduate, graduate, and professional women. Our organization seeks to unify women through the promotion of community service, programs and activities that highlight the contributions of women and people of color, and offer opportunities for academic and professional advancement to members of historically under-represented groups. Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/ Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. is Latina-based, not Latina exclusive. We have a diverse Hermandad (Sisterhood).
