Don't forget to register for Greater Boston LARP Society's April 25-26 Festival!

Assignment of players to games starts March 16. You need to buy a ticket to the convention in order to be able to put games into your Signup Queue. For the best chance at getting into games you want, set up your Signup Queue before March 16.

View the schedule, register for the con, and sign up for games at the Festival website: https://alarpfestival-2026.concentral.net/

Assignment of players to games will take place in three rounds:
* Monday March 16th (one game)
* Wednesday March 18th (three games)
* Thursday March 19th (five games)

We'll be using the new(ish) Signup Queue system -- familiar to folks who attended Intercon this year. With this system, you rank-order all the games you are interested in playing. Then, when game sign-ups open, the website algorithm assigns players to game slots in random order, according to their preferences.

Greetings, LARPers!

As usual, we're taking February off so that folks can prepare for Intercon (annual LARP con run by New England Interactive Literature, held in Warwick, RI).

Looking for some LARP action? Register for our April 25-26 LARP Festival to be ready for game sign-ups in March, or propose an event for May or beyond.

1) Coming in March: dinner & hangout!

Want to hang out with other local LARPers while NOT pretending to be other people? GBLS is planning a dinner excursion in March. Stay tuned for date and location!

Help us find a restaurant! Needs to meet these criteria:
* can seat a group of 10-20 people
* accessible by public transportation and car (i.e., there's parking available nearby)
* affordable (under $30/entree price on menu, less is better)
* vegetarian options on menu

If you have recs, email them to [email protected]!

3) Register for the April 25-26 Festival!

Schedule is now live at the Festival website: https://alarpfestival-2026.concentral.net/! Game signups will be in mid-March -- stay tuned!

Didn't get your proposal in before the deadline? We've still got room for a few more LARPs. Submit proposals at the Festival website (NOT the same URL as our standalone event proposal form!)

Here is Intercon's explanation of how the Signup Queue system works. (Ignore the specifics about number of rounds and when the rounds take place -- Festival's schedule will be different!) https://x.interconlarp.org/pages/signuphowto

You need to buy a ticket to the Festival in order to be able to put games into your Signup Queue.

To buy a ticket, and for more details about signups and the con, visit the Festival website.

No plans for Saturday Jan 31? Come to Arlington for Downsizing Dictionaries! We may need a replacement for a sick player, and the game also has room for walk-ins.

1-5 pm, Robbins Library Common Room (NOT Fox Library!).

Muriel Webster, CEO of Dictionaries, needs your help with the biggest change to dictionaries since thorn was replaced with the letter Y! To meet this important moment Dictionaries has opened positions for 8 lexicographers, 6 publicists, and 2 managers!

Greetings, LARPers!

Welcome to 2026!

Looking for some LARP action? Sign up for our January game, propose an event for March, or propose a game for the April Festival.

1) January 31: Downsizing Dictionaries

Written and run by Moriko Handford. Running Saturday, January 31, 1-4 pm, at the Robbins Library in Arlington.

Signups are still open for this flexible-count game. Sign up by January 20!

This is an alpha run. There will be a post event survey as well as a debrief where you can share feedback to improve for future runs. Play is scheduled to end at 4 pm, with the rest of the time reserved for debrief session.

Description: Muriel Webster, CEO of dictionaries, is hiring lexicographers, publicists, and managers to work at Dictionaries. This is an exciting time for language itself! Perhaps you remember when thorn was replaced with the letter Y. Inspired by recent layoffs in tech companies and the federal government, the dictionary itself will have some downsizing! You might think this is a DOGE move, and you would be correct.

We’re hiring for the following positions:

Lexicographers are responsible for updating and relocating words that have the letter which will soon be retired. Scissors, tape, and dictionaries will be provided for you to work on drafting the next version of the dictionary. You can also bring smartphones and laptops for use in your work.

Publicists make proposals for corporations that use the letter which will soon be retired. These updates will be critical for companies to keep up with these eggciting times! It’s critical you give them alternate spellings and reasoning for this important change.

Management: One manager is needed for each team. As a member of the management team you’ll make sure your team hits their deadline and is ready to present its work to the rest of the company including our venerable CEO, Muriel Webster.
Characters will be created by players via a job application (aka: casting survey). There will be optional questions for players to fill out which will allow the GM to add some flair to the character (like romance, espionage, and character ties).
