1) Signups open OCTOBER 1 at 7 pm for The Death of Super-Hyphen Man: Written and Run by Brian Liberge, running Sunday, January 24, 1-6 pm at the Odd Fellows Hall in Belmont.

NOTE: SIGNUPS ARE NOT OPEN YET. The website will let you click the signup button early, but please don't. (It's a function of the Intercode software, which was designed for conventions where all games are available for signup at the same time.) Anyone who signs up before 7:00 on October 1 will be removed.

Learn to use a sewing machine with Wendy Emerson. All materials provided.
Decorate a witch hat. Materials provided, but feel free to also bring your own.
Bring a costume (max 2) for a costume exchange.
Talk about costuming and other LARP topics and meet new people!
You may attend without registering for this event, but registering will ensure that you get a witch hat. It will also give us some idea of how many people to expect, and let folks get excited about seeing each other.

Running Sunday, January 24, 1-6 pm at the Odd Fellows Hall in Belmont. Written and Run by Brian Liberge.

This is a “mingle and cry” LARP, featuring serious parodies of mostly well known super heroes and villains. We explore serious issues through a fictional, larger than life lens.

Super-Man, the most loved and powerful being in the universe, has died. He sacrificed himself to save us all. A pinnacle of good whose heroism is beyond a doubt. In his absence you can’t help but question your own legacy. You are not a pinnacle of good. You make mistakes. So how did you make the short list of people invited to the reading of Super-Man’s will? How are your legacies intertwined? What choices do you still have left to make?

A LARP that uses superhero tropes to explore themes of identity, grief and legacy. Pre-written characters are used as a springboard for emergent play. A mingle and cry style LARP.

Hello, Sweetie is written and run by Moriko Handford, running Sunday, September 13, 1-5 pm, at the Cambridge YWCA in Central Square (in a new-to-us room!).

You open your eyes to find yourself in a prison cell chained to a wall. Well, you’ve had worse surprises. This is not where you had been a moment ago and it probably isn’t when you were either! You hear a familiar woman’s voice say, “Hello Sweetie.”

As you look around to get your bearings you realize you are with 13 others, all who are similarly chained. Only one of the 13 is someone you would expect to see based on where and when you had been. While part of you is elated to see that romantic interest of yours, another part is very worried that you’ve put them in danger … again. Why are you here? Why are they here? Where are you? When are you? How do you escape?

Hello Sweetie is a Doctor Who escape-room-style LARP featuring the queerest characters from the Whoniverse. No experience with Doctor Who is needed to play.

In the beginning, there was a THUNDEROUS DRUM BEAT…and then the Great Riff SHREDDED through the void with such raw power that it ignited the cosmic inferno of creation! Through the bone-rattling EXPLOSIVE BLAST of cosmic heavy metal, the Great Star Dragons ERUPTED into being, their molten claws ripping open the fabric of nothingness to carve out galaxies, stars, and planets across the screaming universe! Over billions of years, legends have come and gone, devoured by time, but the music STILL POUNDS and the beat HAMMERS ON!

But now, centuries of chaos have unraveled the celestial harmony, and dark forces threaten to extinguish the very stars! As worlds tremble and the abyss whispers of doom, a fearless alliance of the most daring and powerful beings - masters of magic and wielders of cosmic energy - must UNITE to REIGNITE the slumbering hearts of the great celestial dragons to aid their fading stars!

Where astral knights astride unicorns with manes of living flame charge headlong into battle against cackling chaos wizards whose twisted towers loom over blasted moons! Where stylish void pirates plunder the cosmos, their blades dripping with stardust as they hunt for treasures buried in the hearts of the shattered asteroids called home by psionic catfolk! This universe follows the “rule of cool” where every planet’s breathable air fills your lungs with power and every sky blazes with purple fire and molten gold. Against the backdrop of plush velvet curtains, a masked stranger strides forward and extends a hand to you, an air of fatal mystery about them. Is it a potential ally, your deepest enemy, your forbidden lover, or perhaps all three intertwining in a deadly dance? The anticipation sends chills down your spine as you reach out to grasp their hand.

There’s a land of dark magic and twisted secrets, where raw power is the ultimate currency and alliances are constantly shifting. Ruled by divided monarchs and plagued with fragile treaties, the true fate of the political landscape is not decided in meeting rooms, but instead at the secret Shadow Soiree — a clandestine gathering held under the cover of midnight. Here, twisted negotiations and threats occur under the guise of revelry. Behind elegant masks and flowing gowns, enemies and allies alike scheme over drinks with hidden agendas lurking behind their smiles.
