You might know what it's like to be talked over, interrupted, or feel pushed aside - we all have that one story about a group project... 👀

We create space where youth can practice speaking up, and practice making sure their friends feel heard and seen. Young people need to know that their voice matters.

Alongside our partner schools, we're ready for another year of shared empowerment and adventure!

"Do you know what you're doing?" 😅 Yes!!

Our teenagers, the Youth Leaders, reeled EY's Founder, Alec, into a game recently at Soul Fly Co. Boston. From push-buttton rods to spin rods and even fly fishing rods, Youth Leaders practice the mechanics over several trips while diving deeper into the responsibility of caring for natural habitats.

Elevate Youth would like to extend a huge thank you to Willard Mountain Guides. Their team creates an accessible and engaging experience outdoor rock climbing! Rock climbing at Waitts Mount is another staple of our school and summer programs.

Youth don harnesses and bravely take on the large rocks, with a belayer below them to support their climb and descent. Outdoor rock climbing is a great outdoor activity, with real hands-on connections with nature.

Boston Harbor Island trips are a staple of our school year and summer. These trips include exciting ferry rides through the harbor, opportunities to hold hermit crabs, and an immersion in nature that feels distant from the bustling city.

Through Save the Harbor/Save the Bay, this year our youth explored Cathleen Stone Island and Spectacle Island!
TIP: Save the Harbor Save the Bay offers free cruises to Harbor Islands from time to time. Check out their website to sign up!

During our Water Days at camp, we visited Paddle Boston at their Blessings of the Bay Somerville location for some awesome kayaking adventures. The fantastic team at Paddle Boston provided life jackets and taught campers about kayaking while still on land, before releasing them into the Mystic River to paddle around and explore. Campers practiced turning and different speeds of kayaking while spotting wildlife and cooling down out on the river from the hot summer days.

Sailing at Piers Park was a highlight of many camp sessions this summer. Piers Park is in East Boston, and the picturesque view from the water gave the youth opportunities to point out skyline highlights in downtown Boston. We’re so grateful for all of the team at Piers Park going above and beyond to teach campers the basics of sailing!

Every week, Camp Elevate visited the beautiful Codman Community Farms in Lincoln, MA. A special part of Codman Community Farms—aside from the endlessly kind team—is Twinkle, the runt pig. He loves belly rubs and nibbling sneakers… and the campers could not get enough of him! Other highlights included: holding baby chicks and interacting with other farm animals, rows of colorful, blooming flowers, and homegrown produce featured in their market.

By the way, Codman (and the store within) is open 365 days a year and admission is FREE!

We wanted to give a big shoutout to our friends over at Rock Spot Climbing 🧗

When we had to change our plans due to the weather a few weeks ago, Rockspot was ready for our group to escape the rain and rock climb at their gym! We appreciate how accommodating they were, our campers had such a great time climbing.

We are so excited to share about the opportunities at AMC Ponkapoag, in the Blue Hills Reservation in Massachusetts, just 15 miles outside of Boston. This year, we’ve expanded our overnight backpacking trips to include Ponkapoag’s location, and we have nothing but great memories to share from this excursion. We recommend this option for local families as its location is extremely convenient and the campsites have so much to offer. Our campers loved the proximity to Ponkapoag Pond, playing games like camouflage and frisbee in the woods, and quieting down to do arts and crafts and make s’mores!🏕️

We are incredibly grateful for the AMC Journey Fund, which supports our safe and comfortable camping experiences at AMC Ponkapoag and AMC Cardigan Mountain.
