Our Northeast region is shining bright after receiving not one, but two prestigious awards at the Methuen City Council this week.

Director of NE Operations, Meghan Bailey, and Program Supervisor, Jerrid Kenny, were honored to accept two certificates - one from the City of Methuen, and the other from the Massachusetts House of Representatives, presented by the Mayor of Methuen, David Beauregard. The awards recognize the Key Program’s continued leadership, our support and guidance for local youth, and our efforts and innovation in advocating for children and families.

This nomination comes from Nancy Reardon, a long-time Methuen resident, photographer for Methuen Life Magazine, and “jack-of-all-trades” in the city. We would also be remiss not to mention that this opportunity could not be possible without the ongoing community engagement of Jerrid in the Northeast.

While Jerrid isn’t a Methuen resident himself, he has made a lasting impression on the community, making connections and building rapport throughout his 16 years at Key. From local council meetings and events, to tee shirts at the State House, Jerrid’s face is well-known in the Greater Boston area.

During the Methuen City Council meeting, Mayor Beauregard spoke highly of The Key Program’s services and our years of community involvement. These certificates recognize and celebrate Meghan and Jerrid’s tireless work with The Key Program, emphasizing their unwavering commitment to bettering the lives of those in the City of Methuen and beyond.

We thank Nancy Reardon for this golden opportunity, as well as the City of Methuen for recognizing our agency and supporting our mission.

Most importantly, we thank Meghan and Jerrid for choosing to dedicate their lives to human services. We are extremely proud to have you on our team!

Shark Week went swimmingly in Worcester last week 🐟🦈

Coordinated by Clinician, Anna Blackwell of our Central Region, our Girls Program enjoyed goodie bags packed to the gills with temporary tattoos, slap bracelets, and a shark-themed makeup pouch. They also adopted their own stuffed sharks. All while gorging on a Gummy Shark and Peach Ring bouy snack platter.

To cap off the night, the girls watched Jaws (obviously) and sipped on Shark Attack Shirley Temples. They were skeptical at first, but eventually, they took the bait.

Thank you to Anna and the Central team for making a splash for our girls! 💦

One of our very own is making headlines 👀

Outreach Caseworker, KyRon Parker, of our Northeast Region has been featured in an article by Endicott College - From Concours to the Community: Inspire Scholars in Action.

KyRon (pictured left in the photo), is an Endicott Alumni and former recipient of the Inspire Scholarship, an award which expands college access to high-achieving students. More specifically, the Inspire Scholarship recognizes those who are the first in their families to attend college. An incredible accomplishment. The article reads:

"As an Outreach Caseworker with Key Program, Inc., [Parker] works directly with young people and families in their homes, guiding them through challenges that range from school attendance to emotional regulation.

“I help them understand that it’s okay to fail, and that figuring out how to do better is how they can achieve positive outcomes,” he explained. “The reward is seeing them do well—completing their goals, transitioning back home, reuniting with family, and doing better in school."

Thank you for representing Key in the best possible light, KyRon, and for sharing your passion, dedication, and leadership with us all!

Like the vehicles celebrated at Misselwood Concours d’Elegance, the impact of the Inspire Scholarship is built to endure.

Congratulations to our 2026 graduates 🎓

Representing our Rhode Island region, Senior Program Supervisor, Alyssa Lopes and Assistant Program Supervisor, Jenna Dubose both earned their Master of Social Work degrees from Boston University this spring.

We’re also excited to celebrate four Rhode Island staff members who have begun their graduate school journeys! Two have been accepted to Simmons University in Boston, one to Arizona State University, and one to Salem State University.

At The Key Program, we are proud to invest in the professional growth of our staff and celebrate their commitment to furthering their human service careers. Congratulations to all on these incredible achievements. We can’t wait to see what you accomplish next 👏🏼👏🏾👏🏿
