Without the dedication of our employees, donors, and volunteers, Key would not be able to offer these youth a new beginning.

The Key Program was honored to collaborate with the Neurofeedback Advocacy Project at the 37th Annual Boston International Trauma Conference.

Our workshop, “Science to Practice: Diverse Neuromodulation Approaches Across Community Practice Settings,” highlighted how The Key Program has implemented Infra-Low Frequency (ILF) Neurofeedback within both clinic and residential treatment settings using culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and accessible approaches.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share our work and contribute to advancing innovative, evidence-informed approaches that support healing and resilience for the individuals and communities we serve.

We are pleased to announce that the Board of Early Education and Care has approved new regulations for residential program licensing. This is the first comprehensive update to the regulations in more than 30 years.

In a press release from the Department of Early Education and Care, Key Program President & CEO, Tammy Mello, proudly states,

“EEC’s leadership in engaging providers, agencies, and trade associations throughout this process demonstrates the value of strong public-private partnerships. Over the course of the past year, stakeholders worked collectively to provide thoughtful feedback on the comprehensive review of Residential and Placement Regulations, always with a shared commitment to strengthening licensing requirements that prioritize the safety, well-being, and positive outcomes of children and families..."

New regulations include
☑️ Strengthening child safety standards through updated rules on staff training
☑️ Improving transparency, accountability and workforce support
☑️ Requiring more child-centered treatment plans that consider each child’s trauma, history, identity, culture or religion, behavior needs and long-term goals

On the last day of National Nurses Week, we’d like to thank nurses for everything they do for us and our community.

You are caregivers, mental health counselors, educators, and sometimes even fire extinguishers.

A special shoutout to our Nurse Monitor, Christine Martin, from your NE team! Administrative Assistant, Victoria Ursillo kindly states,

“Christine goes above and beyond in her role for the Northeast region, constantly supporting the team however she can. We are so grateful for everything she does!”

Thank you, Christine, and to ALL of our nurses here at Key. Our programs would not be the same without each and every one of you!!

Last week, The Key Program had the honor and privilege of attending Game 5 of the Boston Celtics vs. the Philadelphia 76ers first-round playoff series.

Western Region youth and staff alike were gifted a private suite, equipped with all-inclusive food and beverages, and an unforgettable view.

We are extremely thankful to the Key Program Management Team for this incredible opportunity. Though the game only lasted a few hours, we know the memories will last a lifetime.

Meet our Western Region therapy dog, Quincy 🐾

Quincy and his owner Amanda have been visiting the boys' at both our Arnold Ave. and KIT Intensive Treatment Programs since before COVID hit in 2020.

Six years later, our furry friend has retired from all residential programs and now assists with outreach. But we couldn't let them leave without a doggy bag of gifts, including a personalized sweatshirt!

It wasn't long ago that we were living through a pandemic, which turned our worlds completely upside down. To stay connected to the children and families at Key, Amanda dedicated time twice a month to send us clips of Quincy, and what he was up to. This small, thoughtful gesture was something our kiddos could count on. It was a return to normalcy, and a reminder that we would all be together again, when it was so hard to be.

Stay tuned for a throwback message from this adorable pup!
