Join ABN and MIRA: Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition, Inc. for an important virtual information session for updates on the implementation of the Massachusetts Physician Pathway Act (PPA).

If you are an internationally trained physician, attend this session to learn about how this law will affect you, status of the program implementation, and what your next steps should be.

This session will take place on Tuesday, May 26th, 2026, from 5-7 PM. Interested individuals can register HERE: https://ppa-news.eventbrite.com.

Among other requirements, eligible ITPs must have practiced medicine for at least 1 year in a clinical area corresponding to primary care (internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics, or pediatrics) or psychiatry. The pathway also requires initial employment by a participating healthcare facility that will provide guidance and other support.

One of ABN's primary goals is to build partnerships with community and employer partners to expand our network of resources. With this network, we can ensure that skilled immigrants across the state have access to any resources they may need.

We do this through our yearly series of Orientation Workshops and Information Sessions.

Across these programs, we shared valuable information on topics like immigration, ESOL, workforce development, education, mental health, and more.

In 2025, ABN launched our Skilled Immigrant Certification Program. This program enabled us to support work-authorized skilled immigrants who are ready to continue their careers in Massachusetts.

This was a transition from our existing Career Advising Program. With the launch of the new Certification Program, we were able to take candidates to the next level.

Between these two programs, we received 182 applications last year.

In 2025, ABN placed 10 talented, diverse individuals in roles in healthcare and research through our Immigrant Professionals Fellowship.

This program helps immigrant professionals overcome one of the largest barriers to reestablishing their careers in the US: a lack of US experience.

Despite many challenges in the hiring and immigration landscapes, we still had a strong commitment from employer partners and candidates to make this program flourish.
