Christian Ray, retired from Nantucket Fire Department Local 2509, suffered a stroke on September 14, 2026 and is expected to be out of work for at least six months, creating an unexpected financial burden for him and his family.

Throughout his career, Christian has always been someone willing to help others, playing an important role in helping fellow members grow as firefighters and EMTs. Now, we have the opportunity to support him and his family during a difficult time.

🚒 PFFM STATE MEETING – SALISBURY 2026
Yesterday, Salisbury Firefighters Local 4694, alongside our brothers and sisters from Newburyport and Amesbury, had the privilege of hosting our second Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts State Meeting at the Blue Ocean Event Center in Salisbury.
A huge thank you to all of our members and volunteers who stepped up to help with parking, raffles, merchandise, setup, and everything else that went into making the day a success. We couldn't have pulled it off without you!
We would also like to thank Salisbury Town Manager Neil Harrington for taking the time to stop by and show his support, as well as everyone who traveled from across Massachusetts to attend and the Blue Ocean staff for their hospitality.
It was a great day of camaraderie, bringing firefighters and union leaders together from across the Commonwealth. We're proud to have hosted another successful state meeting right here in Salisbury!
