NSYCC - ACS Northeastern Section Younger Chemists Committee We aim to involve younger chemists in national and local ACS programs in order to help with their transition into a professional career. But never fear!

The Northeastern Young Chemists Committee (NSYCC) supports undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, and early-career chemists through community, professional development, and scientific exchange in the Northeastern region. The Northeastern Section Younger Chemists Committee (NSYCC) is part of the Northeastern Section of the American Chemical Society (NESACS), a local section whose members include chemists from Eastern Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We are devoted to the professional advancement of younger chemists in industry, government laboratories, undergraduate/graduate school and post-doctoral positions. But Am I A "Younger Chemist"? USUALLY, younger chemists are ACS members under 35. Younger chemists are also people not yet established in their careers. The criterion for being a member of this group is not age, but experience. 🇩🇪✈️ Applications are OPEN for the 2027 NESACS-GDCh German Exchange Program!

Are you an undergrad or grad student doing original research in chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering (including materials science) at a school in the Northeastern Section? This one's for you.

Up to 12 students will spend a week in Rostock, Germany, in spring 2027 as guests of the GDCh Jungchemikerforum (JCF), where you'll:
🧪 Present your research at the JCF Spring Symposium (all in English!)
🏭 Tour academic and industrial research facilities
🌍 Build an international network with young chemists from Germany and around the world
🎉 Experience German science and culture

Airfare is provided by NESACS and accommodations are covered by GDCh. No German required!

2027 marks the 26th year of this exchange. Don't miss your chance to be part of it.

ACS recognized our innovative programming, including symposia and networking events, that expanded participation for students and professionals alike. They also named NSYCC a model for Younger Chemists Committees nationwide. 🧪

The 2nd Annual AI-Powered Innovation in Protein and Antibody Therapeutics (AIPAT) Symposium is coming to Le Méridien Cambridge on Friday, October 2, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM.
