Future of Boston

Future of Boston Give 150 minutes of service for BC's 150th anniversary! As members of the Boston College community, we have much to offer our young neighbors in Boston.

Or give homeless and needy children items of clothing and school supplies through www.futureofboston.com - In association with Cradles to Crayons. The Jenks Leadership Program (JLP) is a three-semester program in the Winston Center for Leadership and Ethics at Boston College. Each Jenks class is divided into groups of undergraduate students whose participation in JLP culminates with the ex*****on

of a service project for the benefit of our community. Our project group, Future of Boston, is excited to be partnering with Cradles to Crayons (C2C) to better serve young people around Boston! Cradles to Crayons is a nonprofit organization based in Brighton, founded to provide everyday essentials like clothing and school supplies to Boston-area children living without a home, or in a low-income household, from birth to age 12. C2C is able to provide these items at no cost by engaging "communities that have with communities that need." The aim of our project is to harness the time and financial support of our peers for the benefit of the children served by C2C. We are doing this by coordinating regular, in-person visits by a range of student groups at BC to C2C's "Giving Factory" where our volunteers can experience firsthand the gratification of sorting clothes, toys, and school supplies, and assembling them into "kid packs" for young people who would otherwise do without. The Jenks/C2C collaboration is looking for students who are willing to dedicate 2 hours of their time on a one-time, non-commital basis to help us give back to the Boston community. During this time, volunteers will travel to the Giving Factory and sort clothing and toys or go "shopping" to create kid packs. Attending a Jenks/C2C Event qualifies participating student leaders for RSO hours. In addition to giving our time, our Jenks group is soliciting small financial contributions for the purchase of specific items in high demand at C2C. Sincerely,
