Community shows up in many ways. For the 4th year in a row, Beth El Temple and Unitarian Universalist Church have come together to handcraft Welcome Blankets for our refugee clients.

Each blanket is more than just a gift, its proof that small acts of kindness create lasting impact.

Welcome Blanket is a national initiative that brings communities together through handmade blankets and personal notes of welcome for newly arrived refugees. We are so grateful to have partners who show up for our clients year after year. Learn more at welcomeblanket.org

One backpack. One mentor. One step closer to a brighter future. Our Refugee Youth Mentoring Program mentees each received a fully loaded backpack across our Boston and Worcester locations, because every young person deserves to feel supported!

This is a new program we are implementing to support young refugees ages 15-24 through the transition from youth to adulthood, supporting them in building life skills, navigate higher education, and explore other career pathways. We are so excited to see this program grow!

A huge thank you to , , and , Duolingo supplied the bags and BU and Babson filled and sent them to our teams. We couldn’t have done this without you!

Yesterday we celebrated International Women’s Day, and today we continue honoring the women who make our community stronger every day. 💜

Our organization was founded by women who were refugees themselves and they believed in a simple but powerful truth: women have no limits. These women built a space of support, resilience, and opportunity not only for themselves, but for the generations who will follow.

Refugee women arrive with extraordinary strength, courage, and determination. They are leaders, caregivers, entrepreneurs, students, and advocates. When given the opportunity and support to thrive, there is no limit to what they can achieve.

A huge thank you to Project New Hope in Worcester and a special thank you to Bill, who helped organize this incredible effort, for collecting toys to support Massachusetts' refugee community this holiday season 🎁

Because of your generosity, we were able to spread holiday cheer to the families and children we serve, bringing moments of joy, comfort, and belonging during this meaningful time of year. 💙

RIAC is so grateful for all our partners and the individual donors that showed up for our community and helped make this season brighter for refugees in Massachusetts. ✨
