CURAÇAU, A SELEÇÃO MAIS PEQUENA DO MUNDIAL FALA UM CRIOULO QUE NASCEU DO NOSSO

Com apenas 156 mil habitantes, Curaçau é o país mais pequeno alguma vez apurado para um Campeonato do Mundo. Estreiam-se já este domingo frente à Alemanha, em Houston.

Mas há um detalhe que poucos sabem — e que nos une profundamente.

O Papiamento, a língua crioula falada em Curaçau, tem origem direta no crioulo de Cabo Verde, que chegou às Antilhas acompanhando os escravos trazidos pelos holandeses. E o próprio nome da língua vem do verbo “papiá” — que ainda hoje existe no Kriolu cabo-verdiano com o mesmo significado: falar.

Dois povos de ilhas pequenas no meio do oceano. Duas línguas crioulas que nasceram da mesma dor, da mesma mistura, da mesma resistência. E agora os dois no mesmo Mundial — pela primeira vez.

Cabo Verde joga no dia 15 frente à Espanha. Curaçau este domingo frente à Alemanha.
