The legendary Todd and Donette Swain will share images and tales of Trad Climbing Around the World, which is an amazing chance to be inspired and share in some climbing history. What goes up must come down! Whether you find it thrilling or terrifying or just another tool in the kit, rappelling safely and efficiently is essential for multi-pitch climbing. Our Rock Program students spend a lot of time practicing these skills to get them dialed (and they seem to like it OK 😉).

March 19! Come, join us AMC Boston Climbers for an ice climbing & mountaineering story night, while our beloved winter season is slowly coming to an end!

We will hear ice climbing and mountaineering stories from our female forerunner ice climbers, Alissa Doherty, Ildi Morris, Mare Weiss and Nancy Savickas. Alissa, Ildi, Mare and Nancy were all involved in AMC Boston Climbers (some still are), directed or supported the instructional programs for a long time. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned climber or someone who is interested in ice climbing/mountaineering, come hear stories from the past and connect with likeminded people.

The event will be online and event details will be sent to participants.

Are you ready to get outside after this winter? Do you miss seeing friends and touching actual rock? Join us for a community bouldering day for underrepresented climbers brought to you by AMC x Pawtuckaway Project! Sample a variety of boulders at Pawtuckaway, and after climbing, stay for cookout and mingling! This event is open to anyone who identifies as BIPOC / womxn / LGBTQ+.

In case of rain, we will tour the bouldering area (weather permitting) and climb indoors at a local home gym.

No outdoor bouldering experience necessary. Just bring your climbing shoes! Crashpads are nice to have but not required.
