Massachusetts Health and Relationship Project (MassHARP)

Massachusetts Health and Relationship Project (MassHARP) MassHARP is research project exploring health in diverse long-term, committed relationships. But why is that? And is that true for all married couples?

You may have heard it said that married couples live longer and are healthier than their unmarried counterparts. What about people who are in committed relationships, but aren't legally married? And what about same-sex couples? MassHARP wants to answer these questions. We're researching how the varying relationship dynamics of diverse couples impacts health - and how people's health impacts their

relationships. We're recruiting couples in Massachusetts to take part in the study. To find out more, visit www.MassHARP.com.

MassHARP's own Debra Umberson has a post up on the Huffington Post today responding to research by UT Austin's Mark Regnerus. She writes, "Had Regnerus walked down the hall and knocked on my door, I would have been happy to explain that stress and instability harm children in any family context. Love and support help children to thrive and succeed. Pseudo-science that demonizes gay and le***an families contributes to stress, and is not good for children." Read more at the link below!
