Today for , we're highlighting Ruth Gay, founder and executive director of Bold Futures Academy.

Bold Futures Academy helps young people identify their strengths and prepare for the path that fits them, whether that's college, a trade, a career, or starting a business.

The organization grew out of Ruth's work mentoring college students through UConn's Werth Institute in 2023. As she worked with students, she saw how often young people were making major decisions about their futures before having the opportunity to understand their strengths and how to build on them.

That work became Bold Futures Academy in 2025, helping young people build confidence, think critically, and turn their ideas into something real.

This year, BECMA is celebrating 10 years of impact and looking ahead to the next decade of work supporting entrepreneurs and business owners across Massachusetts.

Our 2026 Giving Day theme, The Power to Build, reflects what we know about the impact of strong businesses. When entrepreneurs have access to the resources, relationships, and opportunities they need to grow, businesses create jobs, support families, strengthen communities, and contribute to a stronger economy.

In 2025 alone, BECMA supported 141 businesses, helped generate $6.5 million in economic output, and contributed to the creation of 137 jobs.

This Giving Day, our goal is to raise $150,000 to help sustain and expand that work.
