Mazel tov to JOIN’s beloved board member and donor, Alice Kuhn, on receiving the Kemach Torah Award at T’ruah’s gala last night!

For decades, Alice has been a powerful champion of Jewish social justice and movement building.

Thank you, Alice, for your leadership and generosity, and for challenging all of us to be braver.

Wisdom doesn’t only come from formal spaces—it also shows up in unexpected places.Sometimes, even from a small, quizzical, wise green Jedi.⁣

These reflections from Yoda (a Jedi in the Star Wars series) offer reminders about responsibility, clarity, and collective care.⁣

👑🚫 Jan is preparing for the upcoming “No Kings” event this weekend.⁣

☂️ For last year’s march, she added colorful signs to a clear umbrella. Now, she’s trying something new.⁣

💡 She’s redesigning the panels and would love your ideas. What messages would you put on each side?⁣

⬇️ Share your suggestions in the comments.⁣

🎉 If she picks yours, we’ll share the finished version.

As Jews prepare to celebrate Passover and retell the story of our people’s journey from slavery to freedom, we are also called to act in the present moment. This year, freedom is not just a story we tell. We invite you to turn the message of the seder into action and commit to making freedom a reality for all.

That is why we are part of Jewsforfreedom, a national effort mobilizing American Jews across the country to take meaningful action to stop authoritarian attacks and protect the freedoms that keep us all safe.

Go to www.jewsforfreedom.com to learn more. Together, we will march, resist, sing, show up, support each other, disrupt authoritarianism and keep democracy alive.

As we prepare for Passover, we’re calling on American Jews to recommit to making freedom a reality for everyone. This year, freedom isn’t just a story—it’s something we have to defend.⁣

Black History tells the truth about what has been endured. Black Futures are about what is built now.⁣

Through our Klei Kodesh Fellowship, we invest in Jews of Color in seminary studying to become rabbis, cantors, and maharats, equipping them with the mentorship, skills, and community they need to lead and flourish.⁣

Supporting their leadership strengthens Jewish life for all. Building Black Futures brings vibrancy, inclusion, and momentum to Jewish communities. That is the future we’re working toward.

Jewish Disability Acceptance, Awareness, and Inclusion Month (JDAIM) invites us to look at who isn’t in the room and think about what it would take for everyone to be here.⁣

Because when more people can participate, more people can lead.⁣

Accessibility isn’t extra — it’s essential to the community.⁣

At JOIN for Justice, we design our programs, trainings, and gatherings with access in mind from the start, so everybody and every mind can learn, organize, and lead.⁣

How is your community making space for all?

Molly Schulman, a JOIN board member and JOF alum, shares why she believes in our organization’s work for justice.⁣

“In the face of rising fascism, ICE abducting and murdering our neighbors, and threats to this country’s already tenuous democracy, JOIN for Justice affirms that we as Jews have an instrumental role to play in organizing for a more just world. Drawing on our many Jewish lineages of organizing, JOIN has remained steadfast in our commitment to anti-racism, disability justice, and supporting our clergy to use their rabbinates for justice. I am grateful to be a part of an organization first as an organizing alum and now as a board member that insists that through building strong relationships and mobilizing our people towards strategic campaigns, we can and will build the world we’re dreaming of.”⁣

Thank you, Molly, for believing in us!⁣
