American Idol contestant from 2006and Ayla Brown performs one of her patriotic songs titled, "Pride of America" at the Sons of Italy Hall in Hingham, MA, for an AL Hull Post 140 Fundraiser, October 1, 2026.

In 2010, Brown travelled to Afghanistan with Armed Forces Entertainment playing six concerts for the troops at Camp Leatherneck in the month of November, according to military news clips and the Boston Herald.

September 26, 2026, Sturbridge, MA. American Legion Auxiliary National President Coral Grout had so many friends and supporters attend her Homecoming Banquet, who took time to share moments/stories, gifts, and to congratulate her as she leads the country in being the "Beacon for Veterans."

One of Dr. Grout's priorities is to set up a scholarship program to support the wives and husbands of service members, providing 2 annually. One of the well wishers was John Bergen of Catholic Financial Services who was happy to begin support by stating he was willing to match all donations up to $10,000 for the scholarship.
