On this Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave service members who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reflects an extraordinary commitment to others: one that continues to shape our nation and reminds us of the importance of community, service and compassion.

As we prepare for the parades and cookouts, take a moment today to reflect on the significance of this day. Memorial Day offers an opportunity to not only honor those we have lost, but also to consider how we can each contribute to a more thoughtful and compassionate future. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

The earthquake in Morocco for most of us is a distant memory, but for many who are still waiting for the government to help, GCF has helped them with the repairs or construction needed to move back home. Thank you to the many Overseas Adventure Travel who donated to help support our relief efforts.

On September 8th 2023 a 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit Morocco. With 2 groups of OAT travelers on the ground, our experienced regional team went into action. Travelers were safe and even helped purchase food, water and hygiene products to deliver to a local hospital with the funds wired from the found...

On April 12, 2026, the Grand Circle Foundation completed the community center sanitation upgrade in Xiengmouak Village, including new toilets and renovations to existing facilities. Our OAT team—led by Phet (Program Service Coordinator for Laos) and supported by our Luang Prabang local guides—joined the handover ceremony with Village Chief Mr. Somsack, teachers, the Women’s Association, and local students.

Village leaders and teachers thanked the OAT team and the Grand Circle Foundation for the coordinated support—both on site and behind the scenes—and emphasized the long-term value of education and community development for children and families. The village chief also expressed appreciation for our travelers and for the strong start to this partnership. The community is preparing to welcome travelers for meaningful village visits beginning in May 2026.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible in Laos.

From Phet – Program Service Coordinator, GCC Laos
On April 17, 2026, Xiengmouak Primary School celebrated a long-awaited milestone: the completion of its first requested water-tank project, made possible through the Grand Circle Foundation. Reliable access to water may seem simple, but for the children here it makes an enormous difference. Our OAT team—led by Phet, Program Service Coordinator in Laos, along with our local guides in Luang Prabang—joined the completion ceremony with the school principal, Mr. Sisouphanh, the village chief, members of the Women’s Association, and the children, who filled the schoolyard with bright smiles and laughter.
Village leaders and teachers spoke with heartfelt pride about what this project represents. They asked us to share their sincere appreciation with the Grand Circle Foundation, and with the donors and travelers who make this work possible. The principal and his team described the water tank as the start of a meaningful partnership, and they look forward to welcoming our travelers for school visits that build connection and create lasting memories beginning in May 2026 and beyond.
If you're traveling with on the Ancient Kingdoms tour, maybe you'll be one of the first to seen the new water tank!

On World Book Day we celebrate the joy of reading that the thousands of books that have been delivered at hundreds of GCF supported schools around the world, has fostered. If your OAT itinerary is taking you to a school, consider bringing an extra paperback or two to leave behind for the students to practice their English.
