When devastating floods swept through Nepal, thousands of families were left facing an uncertain future. Because of the generosity and compassion of Grand Circle travelers, Grand Circle Foundation was able to partner with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and Dhulikhel Hospital to bring critical mobile healthcare services directly to flood-affected communities. Over the next 12 months, more than 4,800 people will receive the care, comfort, and support they need as they rebuild their lives. 🌈💙

When disaster struck Colombia in August, Grand Circle Foundation and our O.A.T. regional team came together to support a community that has warmly welcomed our travelers for years. 💙

Together, we delivered essential hygiene supplies and non-perishable food to 7,000 residents of El Cairo municipality in Colombia's Coffee Cultural Landscape, helping families begin to recover during a difficult time.

In 1990, Dr. Linnea Smith left her Wisconsin medical practice to begin providing medical services to the indigenous people of the Peruvian Amazon. She started with almost nothing — a small thatched-roof room without electricity, running water, laboratory services, staff, or funding. In 1993, following a radio interview about her work, volunteers from Duluth, Minnesota, Thunder Bay, Ontario, and Iquitos, Peru, came together to build a riverside clinic complete with solar panels and a well. Over time, a hammock house for patients’ families and expanded staff quarters were added. When the Amazon River gradually eroded the land beneath the clinic, it was rebuilt in 2009 on a nearby stream.
OAT/GCF have partnered with Dr. Smith to help support her incredible work in this remote community. Most recently, we funded the construction of a new roof for the clinic.
As you can imagine, the weather in the Amazon takes a heavy toll on these structures.
We're happy to have been able to provide a new roof, which will keep the staff, patients and medical equipment safe (and dry) for many years to come.

Tech in Tanzania! Earlier this year, GCF funded the purchase of laptops, projectors and screens to the schools we support in Tanzania.
Digital technology is no longer a luxury but an essential part of the teaching environment and we're helping bridge the gap for these students and teachers.
For some of these children, it was the first time touching a computer.

When children have enough to eat, they have more opportunity to learn. 💚
Thanks to a generous OAT traveler and the continued support of our partner, Children in the Wilderness, 322 students at Ngamo Primary School will receive nutritious meals for up to 20 school weeks.
From mealiemeal and sugar beans to fresh vegetables from the school garden, this programme is helping children stay nourished, focused and ready to learn.
322 children. 20 weeks of meals. One community coming together. 🌱
