Our team spent the day at the Salesforce office to create some back-to-school magic✨ Volunteers customized pencil pouches and packed them with necessary school supplies so students at our partner schools will have what they need to start the year strong.

Last week, volunteers joined us at City Year Greater Boston HQ for a hands-on workshop as part of ServiceNow’s Day of Service!

Together, volunteers packed back-to-school resource kits and created stuffed lion mascots for students at Higginson-Lewis 3–8 School in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood🦁📚 This work will help the students start the school year feeling prepared, supported, and connected to their school community.

What a day at the John D. O’Bryant School of Math and Science!

Investments volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help create a more welcoming and vibrant space for students. From bringing colorful murals to life and refreshing classrooms and hallways, to restoring a garden space and assembling student supply and hygiene kits, every project made a meaningful difference across the school.

Last week, we welcomed more than 200 volunteers from Bain Capital to the Mary Lyon School for a transformative day of service!

Together, we repainted 3 schoolyard spaces, added murals throughout the school's hallways, repainted the cafeteria and packed supplies for every student and teacher at the school 💛

Thank you to our volunteers, the amazing Lyon community and the Boston Public Schools for making it all possible.

And that's a wrap on another amazing year! 🎓✨

Last Friday, June 12, we celebrated the City Year Greater Boston Graduation Ceremony and the incredible accomplishments of our corps members. Thank you to everyone who joined us—family, friends, partners, alumni, staff, and supporters—for helping make the day so special.

A special thank you to our speakers David Shapiro, President and CEO of YMCA of Greater Boston; Kareen Wilkinson-Leonidas Equitable Literacy Coach at Boston Public Schools; and Tricia Colaprete, AmeriCorps Member at City Year Greater Boston. Your words set the tone for not only the event but for all that is to come for this corps.

During this event, outstanding AmeriCorps Members and teams were honored for their extraordinary work, including:
✏Sydney Baltuck and Edler Jonhatan winners of the John T. O'Connor award.
✏ Gage Barringer winner of the WilmerHale Civic Innovation award.
✏ The Hennigan School team winner of the Coolidge Citizenship award.

What a fantastic day of service with our partners at Advent last week at the Frederick School! 🎨📚

Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to brighten school hallways with fresh paint, create a vibrant new mural, and assemble teacher kits filled with resources to support educators throughout the next school year. Their hard work and dedication will help foster an engaging learning environment for students and provide meaningful support to the teachers who make a difference every day.

Looking back on last week's incredible day of service with our partners at Public Consulting Group (PCG) at the Maurice J. Tobin School! 🎨🌱📦

From refreshing the teachers’ lounge with a new coat of paint to assembling graduation kits for students and restoring the school’s outdoor garden area, volunteers brought tremendous energy and care to every project. These efforts will help create a more welcoming and supportive environment for both students and educators alike.

A special shoutout to Pamela Knight and Thomas Ryan for their leadership and coordination to make this event possible!

We’re deeply grateful for our partnership with PCG and to the volunteers for their continued commitment to showing up for students, teachers, and schools in meaningful ways!
