April was a meaningful and high impact month for CFA Society Boston, centered around Financial Literacy Month and a shared commitment to expanding access to financial education.

A key highlight was the inaugural Financial Literacy Leadership Summit, which brought together industry leaders, educators, and community partners for thoughtful discussions on strengthening financial capability and reaching underserved communities. The energy and engagement throughout the Summit reflected a strong and growing commitment to this important work. Throughout the month, we continued to deliver impactful programming across education and professional development, including sessions on private markets, mentorship, and the CFA Program, alongside opportunities for networking and member connection.

As part of our growing University Partner Program Initiative, we also deepened our engagement with students across the Greater Boston area. We were excited to welcome UMass Boston as a new University Partner, meeting with finance and business students on campus to share insights on the CFA Program and the path to becoming a charterholder, while highlighting opportunities to get involved early through membership and networking. In addition, we hosted a virtual webinar, bringing together students from across the region for an informative overview of the CFA Program and how it can shape their career paths, continuing our focus on reaching students early when it matters most.

From volunteer driven financial literacy efforts to dynamic educational programs, April showcased the power of community, collaboration, and purpose. Thank you to our speakers, volunteers, partners, and members for making this month both impactful and inspiring.

March was a dynamic and engaging month for CFA Society Boston, bringing together members across education, networking, and community impact.

Throughout the month, we explored key fixed income topics including liability driven investing, high yield, and structured products, alongside interactive programs like our Lunch and Learn and Ask Industry Leaders sessions. We also hosted Candid Conversations on Sustainable Investing: Perspectives from Investment, Product, and Client Teams on March 5, adding a timely and interactive discussion on how firms are navigating today’s evolving sustainable investing landscape.

Our Candidate Study Groups also met to kick off their study sessions, providing a collaborative space for candidates to meet in person, share insights, and prepare for upcoming exams. We also created space for connection, from Coffee Connection gatherings to our Financial Literacy Meet Up, reinforcing the importance of community and giving back within the profession.

Thank you to our speakers, volunteers, and members who made this month both impactful and engaging. We look forward to continuing the momentum in the months ahead.

February was an engaging month at CFA Society Boston, featuring The Mirror Test and a strong lineup in our Educational Series, including Fixed Income: 2025 Recap, Private Wealth: Hedging and Long/Short Strategy, Fixed Income: Credit Default Swaps, and Point and Counterpoint: Fundamental vs. Technical. Members also casually networked at our most recent Coffee Connection, continuing to strengthen relationships across our investment community.

We also proudly hosted the CFA Institute Research Challenge local competition. Congratulations to Western New England University, the 2026 CFA Institute Research Challenge local champion for CFA Society Boston. This year, 12 university teams showcased exceptional rigor, professionalism, and insight throughout the competition, with Babson College, Clark University, and UMass Boston advancing to the final oral presentation round. We are deeply grateful to our faculty advisors, industry mentors, report graders, and presentation judges whose time and expertise make this program possible. We wish Western New England University continued success at the subregional competition and look forward to building on this momentum in 2027.

September kicked off a vibrant fall season of programming, connection, and learning at CFA Society Boston. From in-depth conversations to launching more collaborative series opportunities and welcoming members back into the office, this month set the tone for an impactful year ahead.

We were proud to host The Exchange: Mastering Professional Networking, the first session of our new educational series in partnership with MassCPAs and the Boston Estate Planning Council (BEPC). This unique collaboration brings together members across industries to explore key career-building skills that elevate communication and deepen professional impact.

As part of Boston Fintech Week 2025, we welcomed attendees to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston for an in-person breakfast program on GenAI in Action: Real Wins, Real Woes for Asset Managers. Speakers from Cambridge Associates, Bain Capital, and parcosm.ai joined us to explore how generative AI is transforming investment research, operations, and strategy. Thank you to everyone who helped make this discussion so timely and dynamic.

We continued our Digital Alpha series with a session focused on AI ethics and the evolving regulatory landscape, and welcomed members back to our office for Coffee Connection, a casual networking series built to spark meaningful conversations over a morning cup. These events reflect our continued commitment to offering valuable, relevant experiences for members at every stage of their careers.
