The neighborhood it represents is bordered by East Canton, East Newton, and Northampton Streets between Washington and Albany Streets. Worcester Square is also part of the historic South End of Boston and is the home of the Boston University M

edical Center, formerly Boston City Hospital. Our meetings are always held the fourth Tuesday of the month except for August and December when there is no meeting. Meetings start at 7 PM, currently on zoom. Please join our email list at Worcestersquare.org to be notified of the zoom meetings.

Boston Public Schools celebrates our 2026 valedictorians!

Thirty-three exceptional seniors graduated at the top of their class. We’ll celebrate them each day over the next few weeks, highlighting a little about what makes them so special.

Mary Lyon High School: Amber Norwich
Amber embodies Lyon High's core values of Participation; Respect; Inclusion; Determination; and Empathy. She has channeled her passion for creativity into making art and displaying it in partnership with the Mayor's Office and the Harvard Ed Portal. She has demonstrated her commitment to helping others in her work on Lyon High's Aspen Challenge team and also earned a Seal of Biliteracy in Chinese. She plans to attend UMass Amherst in the fall.

On June 27th in South Boston is the 2nd Annual PTSD Awareness Day of Wellness hosted at Michael J Perkins Post and honoring the Tim "Doc" Cook Scholarship Foundation. A day honoring all those living with PTSD, especially our veterans, military families, and first responders. Neighbors are encouraged to sign up for some of the offered classes below

The City of Boston is rolling out new rodent-resistant trash cans around the city.

City crews say the upgraded receptacles are designed to help cut down on rat and seagull activity in some of Boston's busiest neighborhoods.

Earlier this week at Worcester Square I talked with South End residents and city officials about quality of life issues. As a former MA probation officer, I know recovery programs work. I also know we must enforce the law, and that includes zero tolerance for criminal behavior.
