We provide air traffic control within the Boston ARTCC (ZBW) on VATSIM. BVA features realistic Air Traffic Control (ATC) and is dedicated to simulating real-world procedures in the Boston (ZBW) airspace. The primary responsibility of the ZBW ARTCC is the separation of overflights, and the expedited sequencing of arrivals and departures along STARs (Standard Terminal Arrival Routes) and SIDs (Stand
ard Instruments Departures) for Boston, New York, and many other areas. In the real-world, ZBW is the 14th busiest air route traffic control center in the United States and one of the largest and busiest air route traffic control centers in the VATUSA division of VATSIM. ZBW currently covers 165,000 square miles of airspace, which includes airports in Connecticut, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, and more. Some of these airports include Boston Logan Intl (BOS), Albany Intl (ALB), Bradley Intl (BDL), Bangor Intl (BGR), Burlington Intl (BTV), Nantucket Memorial (ACK), and more. We feature many aspects of real-world ATC from clearance delivery right up to center, and supplement our air traffic control with a friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable group of pilots. You can join our Cape Air virtual airline and shuttle passengers from hubs at KBOS, KACK, KHYA, KALB, and KISP. The Share the Cockpit program can help you get off the ground for the first time, or transition your real-world flying skills to the online world. Of course, we only hire and train air traffic controllers from within. The VATSIM server is online 24/7 and features real-world weather/season modeling. In addition to running peak hours from 7pm - 10pm ET during weekdays, we have a regular schedule of special events. Our dedicated staff will strive to ensure your flight experience in our airspace is both realistic and enjoyable. Pilot feedback is always appreciated as we aim to never stop learning and improving. We hope to see you in our airspace soon.
