Greece gave the world the Olympics 2,802 years ago. 🇬🇷

The first Games were held at Olympia in 776 BC and ran continuously for 1,169 years, ending only when the Roman Emperor Theodosius banned them in 393 AD. Not a single war, plague, or political crisis stopped them for over a millennium.

No sporting tradition in human history lasted anywhere close to that long. The modern Olympics only resumed in 1896, in Athens, where else.

This is what it looks like when a civilization builds something for eternity.
