The expectation going into yesterday's Council meeting was that it would be where the body voted on the FY27 Operating Budget and dozens of proposed amendments.

That didn't happen.

Instead, 10 Councilors voted to delay a vote on Boston's $4.9B FY27 budget to next week's regular meeting on June 10. Now the Council has an extra week to the FY27 budget and dozens or hundreds of proposed amendments.

This is the 8-5 Council vote approving Boston Public Schools' $1.7B FY27 Operating Budget.

Boston hasn’t needed a supplemental appropriation to close a budget deficit in more than a decade: not even after the historic snow in 2015.
