Because of our shark tank event this weekend, our word of the week is רַעְיוֹן (ra'ayon), which means idea in Hebrew. BUSI, TAMID at IDC Herzliya, and TAMID at Boston University are hosting a pitch day... Shark Tank style. Students will hear three social impact ventures present their pitches to a panel of venture capitalists who will provide feedback to the startups. There will also be guest speakers! The event will be webinar style and is this Sunday March 14th from 12:00-1:30pm EST. The registration link is in our bio!

New member spotlight!!!

Meet Ella! Ella is freshman in CGS, majoring in political science. She is from Long Island, NY. After graduating high school, Ella lived in Israel on a kibbutz doing a Mechina (preparation for the army) program, but didn’t end up drafting (which is okay since now we have her❤️).

Ella joined BUSI because she wanted to be involved in activism for Israel while in college and continue to be part of a Zionist community.

Fun facts about Ella: she sometimes sleep talks in Hebrew, her mom was born in Morocco, and she has two brothers!

Ofek Shmool is a Sophomore studying
Biochemistry/molecular biology (pre-med) from Los Angeles, CA. Ofek joined BUSI to continue advocating for Israel, as the son of Israeli immigrants. He has always felt a strong connection to the culture and environment of Israel, and wants to further promote it here @ BU.
Fun fact: Ofek has been to Israel 8 times, and is planning to go for a medical internship this summer in Tel Aviv.
