Yesterday, the Chelsea Creek Action Group (CCAG) delivered over 850 postcards for MassDOT Secretary Davey asking him to support environmental justice in Chelsea, Revere and East Boston. CCAG wants a comprehensive public safety study to assess the dangers of Global Partners' plan to bring 60-car trains with 1.8 million gallons of ethanol, a highly flammable substance, through densely populated neighborhoods two or more times weekly. The group got a law passed in August requiring MassDOT to commission a study on the hazards of transporting ethanol, and continue in the fight to protect our communities.
