5 Researchers kicked out of the American Diabetes Conference. THE UNFILTERED TRUTH: Reclaiming Our Health, Bypassing the Gatekeepers

Are you tired of organizations that claim to fight for you while silencing the truth? From their segregationist origins in 1939 to their recent move of calling the police on scientists at their own conference, the American Diabetes Association has a long, unbroken DNA of excluding those they claim to serve. Join host Leon Rock as we bypass the establishment, expose the corporate-bought silence, and reclaim the science of our own survival. This is not just a podcast, it’s a movement to build a path for ourselves, by ourselves.

Today, Thursday, June 11, our co-founder and CEO had the privilege of joining leaders, advocates, and changemakers for Equity Week’s "OUT On The Hill: Congressional Advocacy Day."

Leon said, "Our work is rooted in the belief that health equity is inextricably linked to social and economic justice. Our community’s health outcomes are shaped by the policies we fight for every day, which is why being present at this year’s advocacy day was so vital."

The temperature reached over 100 degrees in DC, yet, as Leon indicated, "the day was filled with intense focus and meaningful engagement."

Leon was briefed on key public policy priorities and the specific advocacy strategies needed to move the needle on issues that disproportionately impact our community. He also participated in team legislative visits with U.S. Senators and Representatives, ensuring the voices of those we serve at the AADA are heard at the highest levels of government. Leon said It was an honor to connect with fellow national organizers, health experts, and policymakers who are working tirelessly to dismantle systemic barriers.

"I was particularly honored to participate in the press conference regarding H.R. 40, the Commission to Study and Develop Reparation Proposals for African Americans Act," Said Rock. I was thrilled to stand alongside Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley and Congressman Al Green, joining a powerful coalition of activists committed to the urgent work of passing reparations and restorative justice legislation.

Rock went on to say, "Advocacy is a marathon, not a sprint, but days like today remind us that when we align our voices and center our collective history in our legislative asks, progress is possible. I look forward to continuing this work, both on the Hill and through our mission at the AADA, to ensure a healthier, more equitable future for all.

It was an incredible privilege to join the National Council of Negro Women for such a powerful and inspiring event last weekend.

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, our co-founder and CEO had the honor of participating in their gathering at the Baltimore Room in the iconic Lexington Market.

Leon Rock noted, "It was truly moving to witness the dedication, unity, and passion of this group as they continue their vital work of empowering women and advocating for our communities."

Rock went on to say, "Events like this are a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together with shared purpose and vision. A huge thank you to the NCNW for your unwavering leadership and for hosting such a meaningful afternoon of connection."

Tonight on my African American Diabetes Podcast, Leon Rock-host of the African American Diabetes Podcast will talking about health tips or meal prep.

Tonight he will be pulling back the curtain on an absolute institutional crisis that went down just days ago on June 5, 2026, in the city of New Orleans. On the podcast he will be talking about what happens when the medical establishment decides that politics and self-preservation matter more than Black lives, for that matter all minority groups, underserved communities. Read the article, comment and share.

Don't forget to watch his podcast this evening!

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) just called the cops on their own top scientists at their big meeting in New Orleans.

Why? Because those scientists were warning people that federal budget cuts are about to hit Black folks and other minority populations the hardest. The government wants to cut $5 billion from medical research and completely shut down the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities under the guise of "getting rid of DEI." In reality, they are wiping out the main federal program that studies why diseases destroy minority communities.

This is a massive crisis because Black Americans are 60% more likely to get diabetes than white Americans, and they face way higher rates of blindness, kidney failure, and amputations. When scientists tried to hand out a paper exposing this, ADA leadership had police roll up, sn**ch the journals out of their hands, and kick them out.

Leon Rock, Co-Founder and CEO of the African American Diabetes Association, put the stakes into plain perspective:"These numbers are not accidental. They are systemic... Diabetes is killing us. Most of the health challenges that African Americans face, be it a heart attack, stroke, amputations, or eye challenges, have a correlation to diabetes." They are shutting down the science, and Black patients are the ones who are going to pay the price.

A white doctor based in Colorado has teamed up with a conservative legal group to sue the online directory, “Find A Black Doctor,” for allegedly discriminating against physicians based on their race.

The complaint accuses the directory of excluding non-Black physicians by restricting eligibility to “Black physicians and dentists in active clinical practice.” The suit also alleges that the online platform “robs” non-Black physicians of “advertising exposure” and promotes “racial concordance,” the notion that patients receive better care from doctors of the same race.

The lawsuit was filed by dermatologist Dr. Travis Morrell and Do No Harm, an organization founded in 2022 that publicly condemns DEI.
