We were excited to be a part of an event to kickoff Boston Climate Week at Brian J. Honan Apartments! The innovative Deep Energy Retrofit (DER) at the property is projected to reduce energy usage by 62% and carbon emissions by 51%! Upgrades will also improve the lives of the over 100 residents who call this property home with fresh air ventilation, increased thermal comfort, and reduced noise pollution.

This event highlighted that housing affordability and energy efficiency are not at odds, and how we can all work together and use our creativity to combat the climate crisis. Thank you to all of our speakers, partners, funders, and attendees. We are planning on hosting more events like this one in the future- stay tuned!

April is Fair Housing Month, and ABCDC wants to make sure everyone knows their fair housing rights and resources available across the Commonwealth. Governor Healey’s Affordable Housing Act prompted the creation of the Office of Fair Housing at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities.
