We’re thrilled to welcome Leslie Dewan ’02 back to Pilgrim Road as the keynote speaker for Winsor’s 2026 Commencement. A nuclear engineer, entrepreneur, and CEO of Neutronic Designs, Leslie is helping shape the future of clean energy through her work advancing next-generation nuclear reactors. Her remarkable career reflects the intellectual curiosity, determination, and sense of purpose that have long defined a Winsor education. We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2026 and hearing Leslie’s inspiring message on June 9!

In a recent Further Photography and Advanced Portfolio elective class, students selected images and prepared digital files that were then sent to Shepherd & Maudsleigh Studio to be etched onto photopolymer plates. Today they learned how to use those plates to make photogravures by inking, wiping, and printing their plates off Winsor’s printing press!

Class I students embarked on a field trip to Great Meadows Wildlife Refuge in Concord to release "JJ" and "Cinnamon Bun"—the Blanding’s turtles they have been "headstarting" for the last five months. The daylong trip gave the students the opportunity to experience the native habitat of the turtles, exploring the swamp and pond ecosystem and engaging in some nature journaling.

The Visual Arts Department hosted a half-day artist residency with Cara Bean for Class I on April 30th. Cara Bean is a cartoonist, art educator, and the author of Here I Am, I Am Me, a full-color graphic novel-style adventure through the brain that demystifies and destigmatizes emotional and mental health for children. In her mindful drawing workshop, Cara guided students to focus on their minds as they draw together. She emphasized the therapeutic benefits of drawing, helping the class I students to relax, focus, and express themselves through drawing and comics.
