The Final Fellow Friday! 🌼 This week we have our trio of Fellows who are serving at Freedom House, Iverson, Oza, and Sha! Iverson is one of our current senior fellows serving his second year at Freedom House. He brings his honesty to the cohort, along with his contemplative nature. Oza brings so much light and positivity to the group and her energy is contagious. Sha is dedicated like no other and her passion and curiosity are clear.

“Sha, Oza, and Iverson have been amazing, continuously showing up from college fairs to fafsa events. They never turn down an opportunity to represent MPF, Freedom House, and assist. [Sha] is a great support to students with college planning, [Oza] has the team and students thinking outside of the box, [and Iverson] writes the best letter of recommendations and helps students see their strengths.”

“Ande goes above and beyond to support our youth, and is always one step ahead of the game in programmatic needs! Her status as an alumna helps get buy-in from our youth, and she advises in a way that meets the seniors where they are at!” 🌼

Happy Fellow Friday! This week we’re spotlighting Andelis, who is serving at her host site Raw Art Works, an organization she is an alumni of! Andelis brings positive vibes, style, and passion to our cohort

“Since Andelis is an Alumna of RAW, she brings her own personal perspective and experience which adds so much value to the work she does in advising our high school seniors for their next steps after high school. She has their best interests in mind when supporting them through the college application process and has the perfect way of holding them accountable to their goals while also giving them grace for when barriers arise. In our worksite, all of our colleagues say what an amazing job she is doing and the impact she is already having as a professional at RAW.”

“Grace and Karagin have truly taken our Teen Program to the next level. They have a large hand in its growth and in the potential to dream for further growth in size and programming scope. The kids, both middle school and high school, absolutely adore and trust them.” 🌼

Happy Fellow Friday! This week we got a double dose with Grace and Karagin who are serving for their second year at East Boston Social Centers. Karagin brings an abundance of positivity and joy to the cohort and Grace is always willing to lend a listening ear.

“Karagin has injected a renewed sense of creativity into programming. She can always be found researching an activity or testing out a new project for the classroom, so much so that other staff members on site often ask about what she’s up to or readily volunteer to join us with the kids to take part in the activities. She’s added back some whimsy into the work day and everyone here has really enjoyed getting to see or be a part of it [...] Karagin is a hard worker with fantastic ideas that she will see through if she knows it will tap into an interest shared with her by a child in the program.”
“Grace’s level of care with the work and her sense of humor have made her a person the kids not only connect with during programming, but some they trust, want to talk to, and ask for help. She’s a strong team player and always present with an idea. She makes sure she always does what she can to produce the best work, even if it means that she’ll go out of her way to get it done. Her humor is second to none and she has a spark not easily dulled. I can honestly say that there is no one that Grace has come across here at the Social Centers that hasn’t immediately liked her after one conversation.”

“Kat brings great vibes, heart, and humor into every space she’s in. She makes kids feel safe and confident and has definitely made the Waltham BGC more fun (and funnier) since joining our team.” 🌼

Happy Fellow Friday! This week is Kat who is serving at Waltham Boys and Girls Club. Kat contributes to the cohort an incredibly strong sense of humor and is always open to discussing and learning with her fellow Fellows. Her authenticity is unmatched!

“Kat brings warmth, humor, and a genuinely caring presence to our program spaces. She is approachable and youth-centered, with a natural ability to build trust and a sense of belonging with our members [...] Kat has made a strong impression through the relationships she’s built with youth and the intentional way she fosters kindness and teamwork. One middle school member was so impacted by Kat’s presence that they wrote an essay about her, ending with, “I hope that one day I can make others feel confident, safe, and included the way Kat makes me.” Her humor, authenticity, and encouragement have also contributed to a lighter, more joyful work culture.”

“Eniola is very committed to having a positive impact on the lives of young people and has been working really hard to find ways to reach them.” 🌼

Happy Fellow Friday! This week we have our Fellow Eniola, who is serving with the Town of Stoughton. Eniola is a force for humor, support, and dedication within both the cohort and the work she does with her youth. Her knowledge and her experience are unmatched.

“Eniola brings a different perspective to the work because of her varied life and international experiences that broaden ideas for what is possible [and has] true dedication to the well being and future of the youth.”
