We want to send a warm and enthusiastic “thank you” to the team at the Home For Little Wanderers' “Waltham House,” who gave us the opportunity this week to help them prepare their outdoor space for their upcoming Pride event.

Waltham House is a wonderful group home that provides a safe and affirming living environment for LGBTQ+ youth. During our time there, Crystal Adams, Jules Frantzen, Kristen Keenan, Gabriel Martinez, Emily Haynes, MPH MPAP, Tamara Konig, Kim Prendergast, Keith Marcoccia, and Lyna Mekhilef, LMHC revamped their garden beds, put together a stand-alone hammock, and painted a foul line and a three-point line on their basketball court.

We had a wonderful day spent supporting an incredible organization!

All of us proudly stand with the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month in June, and throughout the year!

Pride is a celebration of authenticity, resilience, inclusion, and the intrinsic belief that everyone deserves equitable healthcare and the opportunity to thrive.

We remain committed to fostering a culture where every individual feels seen, respected, valued, and supported, in our organization, and throughout all the communities we serve.

Throughout June, let us all honor the voices, contributions, and experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals, and reaffirm our commitment to advancing health equity for all. Happy Pride Month everyone!

Indeed it does, LifeLong Medical Care. Mental health should always matter. To everyone.

May is National Mental Health Awareness Month. At LifeLong Medical Care, your mental health matters just as much as your physical health. That’s why every patient is screened for mental health, so we can better understand your needs and support your overall well-being.

At LifeLong, we offer a range of services including psychiatry, individual and group counseling, and substance use disorder treatment for adults. We also have therapists who specialize in pediatric mental health, as well as providers with expertise in supporting older adults.

We offer care designed to best support your unique life experience in a safe and welcoming environment. You’re not alone, and support is here when you need it.

This month, take time to support your mental health. Here are a few ways to get started:
🩷Stay connected with friends, family, or someone else you trust
🚶Take short breaks to rest and recharge
☀️Spend time outside or move your body
🧘‍♀️Practice deep breathing or mindfulness
📲Reach out for professional support when you need it

If you or someone you know needs immediate support, call or text 988, the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7.

To schedule an appointment, call us at (510) 918-4100.

We couldn't agree more, Yakima Neighborhood Health Services. Thank you for sharing this.

Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic CEO Christy Trotter, Yakima Neighborhood Health Services CEO Rhonda Hauff, and Senior Services Lead SHIBA, WA State OIC, Kelsey Brontide, spoke with community members at the Wapato Filipino Community Hall about the shifting healthcare landscape.

They all shared this key message:
"Health care is important. Health coverage is important. If you have questions about your eligibility, visit wahealthplanfinder.com to find a navigator who can help you."

LifeLong has seen a lot in 50 years. From the social justice movements of the 1970s that created our first health center, through a worldwide pandemic, to the current digital revolution, healthcare has evolved – and LifeLong with it, often leading the way. Keep reading here for milestones in our half-century of compassionate care.

2018-2020

This was a significant period for LifeLong. In 2018 East Bay Community Recovery Project became a part of LifeLong, offering integrated services for mental health, substance use, and related services, including the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program.

In 2019, LifeLong established Street Medicine Services, delivering medical, behavioral health, and case management services to people experiencing homelessness.

When the global COVID-19 global pandemic hit in 2020, LifeLong quickly created a COVID-19 Response Team, becoming one of the first health centers in the area to set up outdoor testing. We moved most of our practice to telehealth, including behavioral health, while keeping several open sites for immediate and urgent care. Oakland Trust remained open to serve the homeless population, hard hit by the pandemic.

In 2020, we opened the William Jenkins Health Center in Richmond and began training Family Medicine Residents at the site.
