Mission Statement
Boston Abortion Support Collective provides free, compassionate and empowering support to people experiencing abortion. We promote the doula model of physical, emotional, spiritual and informational support for people throughout the full spectrum of reproductive experiences. Values, Communities, and Traditions Informing Our Work:

We do this work because we believe everyone shoul

d have access to all the resources they need to choose whether, when and how to be s*xual, to reproduce and to parent. Working with a reproductive justice framework and an understanding of the politics of reproduction, we recognize that people’s reproductive experiences and access to abortion vary widely, based on their relationship to race, gender, class and other structures of power that shape our world. We strive to prioritize the voices and needs of marginalized individuals and communities, including, but not limited to, people of color, q***r, trans* and gender nonconforming people, people with disabilities and young people. We are inspired and motivated by the work of other full-spectrum doula groups. We understand reproductive life to encompass a full spectrum of experiences, including non-reproductive s*x, miscarriage, abortion, birth adoption and the postpartum period. We believe every person deserves nonjudgmental, compassionate support throughout their reproductive experiences and to be empowered to be their own best advocate. How We Fulfill Our Mission:

The volunteers of Boston Abortion Support Collective:

* provide free support services for abortion;
* facilitate connections with other volunteers to provide support for a variety of other reproductive experiences including birth, birth loss and postpartum care
* host community events that support destigmatization of reproductive experiences and a better understanding of reproductive health, rights, and justice;
* educate future reproductive support people
* and nurture relationships with allied organizations.

I am ambivalent about ever carrying a pregnancy to term, so I’m not describing the typical malaise that invades the minds of those who consider expanding their families. I spend a lot of time thinking about ...

Eastern Massachusetts Abortion Fund, Jane Fund of Central Massachusetts, and Abortion Rights Fund of Western Massachusetts are our local abortion funds here in MA. And in addition to physical/mental/emotional support, we at BASC also offer ride support to and from appointments in the Boston area. National Network of Abortion Funds has info for abortion funds across the country 💜

Thanks to new laws, more people need to travel for abortions.

The right to parent is inseparable from the right to have an abortion. Most people who have an abortion are parents; because it’s the best decisions for ourselves and our families. |
