Startup Boston

Startup Boston Startup Boston is the front door to the New England startup ecosystem. Our flagship event is Startup Boston Week.

Startup Boston is a volunteer-driven organization on a mission to connect, educate, and celebrate the startup ecosystem. A free, 5-day event in September that provides free workshops, panels, presentations, and networking activities for the entire startup community. This includes founders, startup employees, mentors and advisors, students, investors, and startup curious folks.

Founders: still figuring out how to turn conversations into customers? 👀

Sales leaders: trying to build a predictable revenue engine instead of relying on crossed fingers and quarter-end miracles? 📈

The Sales Track at Startup Boston Week is designed for the people responsible for turning opportunities into revenue.

🎯 Founder-led sales
📈 Building pipeline
🤝 Closing deals
💰 Pricing strategy
📊 Forecasting & CRM systems

Because revenue doesn't happen by accident.

It happens when you build repeatable processes, understand your customers, and focus on the activities that actually move deals forward.

Join us September 14–18 for Startup Boston Week 2026.

If your management strategy is currently...

🤞 "I hope they figure it out."

🤞 "Let's see what happens."

🤞 "We'll deal with it later."
..this track is for you. 😅

Because nobody tells you that one day you'll go from building a product to managing people.

And suddenly you're wondering:

👀 Is this person struggling, or am I managing them poorly?

👀 Should we hire a full-time employee, fractional support, or nobody at all?

👀 Why does onboarding feel different every single time?

👀 Is our culture healthy, or are we moving too fast to notice the cracks?

👀 How do I give direct feedback without sounding like a jerk?

👀 At what point do you know someone isn't the right fit?

That's exactly why we created the **People Ops Track** at Startup Boston Week 2026.

Sessions include:

✨ Managing Performance Without Avoiding the Hard Stuff

✨ Hiring When Everything Feels Unpredictable

✨ Your Onboarding Process Is Basically Vibes

✨ Your Culture Is Showing

✨ Your Interviews Are Running on Vibes

✨ And more to come!

Because some of the hardest startup decisions aren't product decisions.

They're people decisions.

Huge shoutout to Rebecca Meier for helping shape this year's track and making sure we're tackling the conversations startup leaders are actually having behind closed doors.

📅 Sept. 14–18

What does it actually take to go from student founder to startup founder? 🎓➡️🚀

In the latest episode of Cents Check, shriya! sits down with Ratnam, founder of LabOps, to talk about the realities of building a startup from the ground up.

From finding the right opportunities and support systems to navigating the uncertainty that comes with entrepreneurship, Ratnam shares lessons learned along the way—and advice he wishes more aspiring founders heard sooner.

One thing became clear during the conversation: startups aren't built alone. The people you meet, the communities you join, and the conversations you have can change everything.

Whether you're a student, an early-stage founder, or just startup-curious, this one's for you.

You don't need a startup idea to belong in the startup ecosystem.

Seriously.

You don't need to be a founder.
You don't need to have quit your job.
You don't need a pitch deck.
You don't need to know what a cap table is.

You just need to be curious.

That's why we created the Startup Curious Track at Startup Boston Week 2026.

Built for:
➡️ Aspiring founders
➡️ Career changers
➡️ Students
➡️ Side hustlers
➡️ Anyone wondering if startup life might be for them

We'll dive into questions like:

• What actually is a startup?
• Should you start a company or join one?
• How do you break into the startup world?
• What is startup life really like behind the LinkedIn posts?

No startup jargon.
No gatekeeping.
No pretending everyone has it figured out.

Just honest conversations and practical advice from people who've been there.

Startup Boston Week returns September 14-18, 2026.

And as always, it's completely free.

You did it. You finally land a customer.

And then immediately start wondering:

😅 Why did they stop responding to my emails?

😅 Why did they churn when they said they loved the product?

😅 Should every customer get white-glove support?

😅 How do I know someone's about to leave before they actually leave?

😅 Why does Product keep building things customers didn't ask for?

😅 Why does onboarding feel like a second full-time job?

Welcome to startup life.

That's exactly why we created the Customer Success & Support Track at Startup Boston Week 2026.

Because getting customers is only half the battle.

Keeping them is where things get interesting.

Sessions include:

✨ From Sign-Up to Superfan: Designing Better Onboarding Experiences

✨ The Slow Fade: Recognizing Churn Before It Happens

✨ High Touch, Low Touch, No Touch: Designing Customer Experiences That Scale

✨ Thanks for the Feedback: Closing the Gap Between Customers and Product

✨ The Org Chart Strikes Back: Building Multi-Threaded Enterprise Deals

✨ And more to come!

If you're a founder, customer success leader, product manager, or startup operator, this track is packed with the tactical conversations nobody seems to have until after a customer leaves.
