“We work hard. Our future deserves more than budget cuts”

Yesterday, TE Boston and Somerville joined with other MA orgs to advocate for an increase in the proposed "Youthworks" budget to counteract the planned 40% cut and that will cost youth 2400 jobs this and next Summer.

Hundreds of teenagers marched through the Massachusetts State House to demand that Governor Maura Healey and state legislators restore funding for youth summer jobs programs that were cut by 40 percent.

Thanks to City of Boston Community Preservation Act grant for helping to keep our historic Roxbury home in working condition and making it more accessible!

TE HQ was built in 1846 by Dr. John C Warren, who pioneered the use of anesthesia in surgery, on the site of the 1720 home of Joseph Warren, which was the birthplace of Revolutionary War General John Warren. Now it's home to TE Studios, our arts for social change program, Visions for the Future, our systems-involved emerging adult program, and TE's administrative offices.

In the City of Boston, an historic building at 130 Warrant Street serves as the home of The Center for Teen Empowerment, Inc., an organization helping youth leaders advocate for social change and community organizing. Thanks to a $370k grant, the city was able to complete critical envelope work to ensure the building meets modern safety and access codes while maintaining its 19th-century architectural integrity.
