Japanese Disaster Relief Fund-Boston A Fund created as a local vehicle to aid those affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

On March 11th 2011, a 9.0 magnitude earthquake coupled with a tsunami devastated Northeastern Japan. The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear reactor was also damaged, prompting a large scale evacuation. The compounded events caused massive damage to communities and the region ’s infrastructure and caused thousands of deaths, while fallout from the nuclear reactor has affected the area ’s agricultural produc

e. More than 11,362 people are confirmed dead, with more than 15,000 still unaccounted for. Over 400,000 individuals are still living in temporary shelters as a result of the disasters, and hundreds of thousands remain without running water or power in near-freezing conditions.
