We had a great day at Boston University with Brotherhood for the Fallen Boston Chapter and the Senior Management Institute for Police.

It was an honor to spend time with police executives from across the country, sharing our mission and discussing how we support the families of fallen officers.

We are grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness, build new partnerships, and generate support that allows us to continue honoring our heroes and standing with their families when they need us most.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to learn more about our organization and mission. 💙

Your unwavering support has made a lasting impact, not only by honoring the memory of our fallen heroes but also by providing crucial support to their families and furthering the Brotherhood mission.

We are saddened to announce the line of duty death of Deputy Sheriff Logan Utt of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia. Deputy Utt was shot and killed while performing a welfare check on May 29, 2026.

Around 9:26 p.m., the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office received a call for a welfare check. When Deputy Utt and another deputy arrived at the scene, the subject fired at both deputies before fleeing.

Deputy Utt was killed. The other deputy was struck in his ballistic vest and received medical treatment.

The suspect has not been apprehended, and a manhunt is underway.

Deputy Utt was a military veteran and had served with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office for over two years. Survivors include his wife and children.

Deepest condolences to the members of the Boston Fire Department and the family, friends, and loved ones of Firefighter Robert Kilduff, Jr. following his tragic line of duty death.

Firefighter Kilduff dedicated 24 years of service to the people of Boston and made the ultimate sacrifice while courageously battling a 3-alarm fire in Dorchester. His bravery, selflessness, and commitment to protecting others will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Boston Fire Department during this heartbreaking time.
