National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness

National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness NSCAHH organizes college students to end hunger and homelessness through education, service, and advocacy.

Every American ought to be able to live without worrying whether they’ll have food on their plate or a roof over their head. And yet, last year more than 49 million Americans were at risk of suffering from hunger, and 3.5 million ended up sleeping in parks, under bridges, in shelters, or in cars. The combination of the high cost of living, low-wage jobs, unemployment, and underemployment only make these problems worse, and force countless Americans to choose between food, housing, and other critical expenses. We have the resources and knowledge to eliminate hunger and homelessness in our time, but it remains to be seen whether we have the political will to provide a real support system that ensures everyone has access to food and shelter. These problems will only continue to get worse unless we lend a hand to those in immediate need, while at the same time creating meaningful solutions to end hunger and homelessness in America. Fortunately, on campuses across the country, there are students like us who are dedicated to making their communities a better place, and improving the lives and well-being of those around them. That’s where the National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness comes in. We take this passion and dedication and harness it through a combination of direct service, fundraising events, and political advocacy. As students, we have the ideas, solutions and resources to make change – and by joining together across the country, we can end hunger and homelessness in America.
