The afterschool program is cancelled for Monday, February 23, with to the closure of Boston University, Boston Public Schools and Chelsea Public Schools due to the upcoming snowstorm.

A major nor’easter will bring heavy, wet snow, blizzard conditions, strong winds, coastal flooding and a chance of power outages to much of Southern New England.

With the announcement from the Boston Public Schools and Chelsea Public Schools that school is closed tomorrow (January 27) due to the snowstorm, the BU Upward Bound afterschool program is cancelled for Tuesday. No classes or Study Hall. Our office will be open Tuesday between 9am and 5pm, if you would like to contact us.

We anticipate that the afterschool program will run as scheduled on Wednesday. If you registered for Study Hall on Monday or Tuesday and would like to come on Wednesday this week to make up the session, let Tchorzky know.

All BPS schools will be CLOSED Tuesday, January 27, due to snow. School and district sports and activities also will be CANCELED Tuesday, January 27.

The Upward Bound afterschool program is cancelled for Monday, January 26, with the closure of Boston University, Boston Public Schools and Chelsea Public Schools due to the snowstorm. Stay safe. We will see you later this week.

Boston University has informed us that "The MBTA has announced that, to accommodate tunnel improvements, Green Line service will be suspended between North Station and Babcock Street on the B Branch, Kenmore on the C and D Branches, and Heath Street on the E Branch beginning Monday December 8, and continuing all day, every day, for fifteen days, December 8-22."

Upward Bound will still hold its afterschool program during this time, but will be accommodate those who are entering late due to the closure next week. Contact the UB cell when you are on your way to provide any updates.

Our college is closed early for Thanksgiving starting today, Wednesday, November 26. Our office is closed today and for the rest of the week. The office and the afterschool program will reopen on Monday, December 1.

The priority deadline for new student applications for Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science is Monday, December 1. Students and families can submit their applications to Reggie Jean via email. Information is on the application.

Due to staff being out sick, the study hall for today (11/17/25) is cancelled. Both the 4pm and 6pm SH sessions are cancelled. Students are welcome to come Tuesday or Friday to make-up the date (schedule is attached).

Senior Workshop I with Angelica (UB Seniors) and Michelle (UBMS Seniors) will still take place today and this week as usual.
