Friends of Crite Park

Friends of Crite Park The Friends of Crite Park thank the Ellis South End Neighborhood Organization for its support as the Crite Park renovation is being established.

The mission of the Friends of Crite Park – an all-volunteer, non-profit organization – is to establish and maintain Crite Park, a gathering place in the South End designed to foster community and celebrate the legacy of artist Allan Rohan Crite. Ellis has provided important administrative services which allowed us time to design a park that honored Allan Crite and provided an open space for all to enjoy. Thanks to you, Ellis friends!

Father's Day at the site of the new Crite Park (Appleton and West Canton Streets and Columbus Avenue) was a bevy of activity as families came to decorate little pots and plant seeds to take home to create their own gardens. The Boston Police Ice Cream Truck even showed up to give free ice cream to the attendees. Thanks everyone for coming!!!

Exciting news
Funding for the park renovation project was UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED at a final review with the City's Public Improvement Committee (PIC) on Thursday, January 26th. This means that construction could begin this spring. The Friends are planning a ground-breaking ceremony in late May or early June.
Please visit critepark.org for on-going news regarding the park and to make a donation to help in these efforts.
