"AYA support groups take a variety of forms – in-person, online, informal, or structured. Some groups are dedicated to a specific cancer, while others are more general. But through each there is a common thread of connection and hope in shared experiences."

We are grateful for the leaders and members of our Sarcoma Support Group.

For many people, a cancer diagnosis is a lonely experience marked by feelings of isolation. For adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer, this is especially true. AYAs – who represent only 4…

Check out this FREE, virtual summer camp/conference from Next Step for young people ages 16-24 living with a chronic illness! The first campference session will be "Cancer", which will be held June 24-26th.

Next Step Campference combines the fun and camaraderie of camp with the focus and resourcefulness of a conference. It's a judgment-free zone where you and other young adults who've been impacted by chronic illness can learn from, share with, and advocate for each other.

At campference, you can expect to make connections, and feel the relief of being surrounded by other young adults that “get it.” Through workshops designed by your peers, community-building activities, and expressive arts (no talent required!)--you can not only grow but be yourself and use your voice.

STUPID CANCER STORIES is a multimedia platform created by Stupid Cancer to connect members of the adolescent and young adult cancer (AYA) community through the power of storytelling.

The Stupid Cancer Story Library provides a window into the experiences of other patients, survivors, caregivers, and professionals at any stage of the cancer journey through first person essays hosted on this Medium blog site (https://blog.stupidcancer.org/) and Vimeo video library (https://vimeo.com/showcase/6912959).

Stupid Cancer is currently looking to receive more contributions from patients, survivors, and caregivers.

Written stories can be any format, including journal entries, poetry, or other creative writing styles. In addition to written content, you may also submit audio and video submissions and creative formats such as spoken word, comedic monologues, or other performance styles.

If you are interesting in submitting a story, check out this helpful Story Guide at https://stpdcn.cr/storyguide , which has writing prompts, interview questions, and other tips on how to craft a Stupid Cancer Story. You can find the submission link at https://stpdcn.cr/shareastory

Welcome!

Adolescent and young adult cancer patients and survivors face unique challenges during their diagnosis and treatment. Oftentimes these patients must navigate unexpected social and emotional challenges, unforeseen stress and anxiety, and general uncertainty throughout their cancer journey. The Mass General Cancer Center is working to improve the care, outcomes and transitional experiences of these patients by offering them access to a program focused on integrated care delivery, research, and education.

In addition to receiving exceptional medical care, patients at the Mass General Cancer Center are offered a wide range of programs and services that help support them at all stages of their cancer care. We are working to tailor the supportive care and navigation needs of both young adult patients living with advanced cancer and those who have completed therapy.

We are grateful to an extraordinary group of friends who created Crafts for a Cause in honor of two young men who passed away from cancer. Their fundraising kickstarted this program to better connect our young adult patients to one another and age specific resources.
